The Boat Inn, Cromford

A great traditional pub. Enjoyed a nice drop of Black Sheep and a plate of beef stew - perfect on a cold day. Very busy on a Saturday lunchtime, including a band of Morris Dancers who seemd to be having a stiffener before the fray!

Three Horseshoes Inn, Bromyard

A really friendly pub with great food at very reasonable prices. Good beers and wine. They do a pie and pudding 2course pensioner lunch for 6 on Thursday, and fortunately the day we went was a Thursday! Publican and wife great talkers, and plenty of room in pub and garden. Will definitely go back.
One issue though is the pub is down country lanes and the geographically challenged might find it difficult to locate, but do persist because its a little gem.

The Three Crowns Inn, Ullingswick

Turned up to pub at 12.05 today for lunchtime, and told by young man that the publican was not there and there was no message as to where he was, so pub not operating. Pity as we went here a couple of years ago and had a great meal in a nice friendly atmosphere. May be there was an unforeseen problem. Needless to say after waiting a few minutes we went elsewhere.

The Hood Arms, Kilve

This doesnt seem to have been reviwed since 2007. The other day we found it a great place for a drink and a bit of pub grub after a walk along the cliffs. Good atmosphere in the bar and prompt service. A few quirky customers which we liked - but we might be a little quirky ourselves! Good selection of beers and wines. My wifes steak and kidney pie was excellent.- I got to finish it because the portions were very generous. My duck very very tender. A nice relaxing place, and not expensive. Would definitely go back

The Farmers Arms, Combe Florey

Mixed feelings about this pub. Mainly an eating place. Staff rather tense. food quite good, and certainly the best spotted dick I've ever ever eaten! Nice garden but bar area dark and no atmosphere

The Cock Inn, Wivelsfield

Unlike the previous reviewer we both survived and enjoyed our lunch, as well as the very friendly atmosphere last week. Food had a home-cooked taste to it, very nice. Wine not too great, but everything else fine.

The White Hart, Pirbright

Well, you can only speak as you find, and we found this pub very acceptable when we had lunch there yesterday. The bar was quite full and everyone seemed to be having a good time, though the restaurant almost empty, dark and very cavernous. We stayed in the bar and each had a shoulder of lamb, chips and veg. Good pub grub. Also tried some wine which was better than average. Service was OK too even though there was a bit of a rush on. Not bad at all.

The Crown and Victoria Inn, Tintinhull

Great place for a meal - the pies are sensational. Have taken a number of visitors there for lunch, and its always been a success. Both beer and wine drinkers have found stuff they like. Actual bar area small, but plenty of tables inside and out.

The White Hart, Wood Street

We've been to this pub three times this summer - twice for Sunday lunch - and found it very enjoyable - great roast beef and yorkshire pudding - and friendly staff. Both a pub to drink at, or eat at, or both!
