The Pride of Spitalfields, Shoreditch

Second time here. Beer and atmosphere as good as ever. Top five pub in London.

Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, Fleet Street

Quite busy on a Saturday night. Beer was fine. Couldn't get a seat so sat in the Chop Bar restaurant as it was 10pm and not serving food. However told to move! Toilets dirty and smelly. Left after one drink and went to a proper welcoming pub - the Pride of Spitalfields.

The Pride of Spitalfields, Shoreditch

Went on a monday night for the vinyl club. Absolutely jammed. Quick bar staff. Excellent range of music. Superb real ales. ESB and Crouch gold were top notch. An oasis.

The Hand and Shears, Barbican

Decent enough beers - £4. But that is about it.

The Queens Head, St Pancras

Excellent real ales and the barman let us try a couple of samples but there was an awful smell throughout the pub.

The Gunmakers, Clerkenwell

Beer was good but there was no atmosphere about the place.

The Railway Tavern, Liverpool Street

Last orders called at 10.45. Told to leave the pub at 1105 along with everyone else. Allowed to finish our drinks outside. TV turned off at 11 so unable to watch Olympic highlights.

Plus side speckled hen was good but this no way made up for a horror story.

The Railway Tavern, Mellis

Refurbished to a high quality. Ecellent local beers - Soham Victoria Bitter and Golden Newt. Superb food. Worth a visit.

The Garden Gate, Aldershot

Great pub. Excellent beer. We had a couple of pints of moorhouse which was spot on. Some fun pub games and just a great friendly local pub.

The Trafalgar, Aldershot

Went to this pub last night. Was really looking forward a couple of real ales before the Aldershot- Hereford match in a pub that was previiusly mentioned for it's great beer. To my horror when I asked if there were any real ales as both the pumps were not on I was offered fosters. Pub itself looked ok. Went to the Garden Gate where I had some superb Moorhouse beer.
