The Bicton Inn, Exmouth

Ignore the previous review - he clearly dosn't have a clue what a proper pub is/should be (stick to weatherspoons next time)! This is a victorian end of terrace boozer how pubs used to be. In a town full of terrible pubs this is a gem, well worth a look.

Fanny's Ale And Cider House, Saltaire

I'm so glad I found this pub, a really friendly crowd and excellent selection of beer, many from local breweries. Quickly found myself in the midst of an ale drinking frenzy. Many thanks to the locals for making feel at home.

The Fighting Cock, Bradford

Situated amongst Bradfords seedy industrial backstreets I was speechless when I walked into this pub. A great crowd with a warm buzz of banter and a fantastic selection of ales, the Copper Dragon Golden Pippin was brilliant. After drinking 7 pints I staggered off to find curry. I hope I get the chance to return to this pub again, one I dont think I will ever forget....

Holly Tree, Exmouth

Excellent warm atmosphere in this St Austell owned village pub. Best beer in Exmouth by a long way. Landlord and Lady have made this pub great again. Definitely worth a visit, the Proper Job is a great pint!

Castle Hotel, Barry

Barry's best ale pub. Definitely a pub of 2 halfs: spit, sawdust, live music and pool in one and a victorian hotel lounge with all original features and laid back atmosphere in the other. Landlord doing an excellent job of bringing great ales to this backstreet boozer. Off the track but definitely worth a visit - unique.

The Buccaneer, Barry

soul destroying - just pop along to watch the dregs of Barry smoking and drinking their lifes away - I wish they'd give them a smoking area of the high street so we dont have to see them. Guaranteed to see a fight on any day of the week - honestly, the closest place to the "Star Wars bar" you will find outside of Tatooine. 1/10

The Gardeners Arms, Lewes

A fantastic boozer with real people and great ale, one of the highlights of my real ale tour of east sussex

Trevor Arms, Glynde

A sussex gem: simple, unpretentious and unspoilt. Probably hasn't changed in 100yrs, let hope it stays that way.

The Kings Head, East Hoathly

I was looking forward to visiting this pub but due to lack of appropriate attire (tweed jackets, breeches and girls socks) we wernt given the warmest of welcomes (saved for the local shooting club). Beer seemed OK but didnt stay around for second pint
