Sun Inn, Rhewl

Lovely walk to this pub to find it was closed, disapointing.

The Bridge End, Ruabon

I had to come to this pub because everyone raved about it being the best in the country. I wasn't disapointed as the beer was good, better than most but didn't have the atmosphere and allure some of the others have. No surprise really, it was very rowdy, packed to the rafters. For that reason we didn't stay long, It could be much nicer if not so popular so a victim of it's own success I suppose and in times of economic hardship it is a big shame for other places who seemed to be struggling.

Brilliant!

Bensons, Llangollen

What a shame this tacky street front bar exists in a quaint village like Langollen. It would be better suited to blackpool. I hope this North Wales Council is careful not to allow more of this wonderful place to be spoiled by unsympathetic development like this and the "nisa local stans on the traffic lights up the road

The Boot Inn, Chester

One of the better pubs I visited in the Chester area. Sam Smiths was on fine form, the buildings are old and characterfull, with nice fire places and friendly mature custom. I'd like to see the cellar of such an interesting building.

The Brewery Tap, Chester

Interesting building and history. Very tall ceilings, like drinking in a church with candels on the tables. 5 beers on tap, the two I tried were in fine condition, but a bit cold. Didn't try the food,
