The Willeymoor Lock Tavern, Tushingham

Proper family run freehouse , well kept variety of real ales , proper food , very friendly . Only downside access for less mobile bit difficult , but if you can make it well worth it .

The Admiral Benbow, Shrewsbury

Last time i visited here [ 10 years ago at least ] it was full of scantily clad teenage girls but the beer was undrinkable , now the beer is great but alas no teenage totty , i prefer it now must be getting old!

The Crown, Oakengates

Must be me then , lots of telford accents but very few oakengates ones , maybe its all the new folks moving into town ! CAMRA can be very clique , i was with a mate [a member] when he suggested to then chairman a decent pub with good beer , he refused to try it out as he had fallen out with a previous landlord ten years earlier ! Dont get me wrong i like this pub ive drunk in it on and off for 25 years and at least its idiot free unlike some i could mention in town

The Crown, Oakengates

Strange thing is this is supposed to be not just oakengates but telfords real ale mecca , ok the hobsons is exellent and the guests well looked after , but why do certain camra members avoid it like the plague [my dad for one] and why no oakengates locals , i pop in for a pint when in town but most of my mates from oakengates use other pubs in town , maybe its just a tourist pub [ tourists in oakengates ....... JOKE ]

The Thomas Botfield, Telford

Seems to be a cross between a wetherspoons [it is] and a school canteen , the worst wetherspoons i have been in !

The Lamb and Flag, Oxford

After being dragged around ashmolean museum all morning suggested to wife we pop in for a quick pint and a bite to eat , two hours and 5 pints later we left to continue our tour of city , returned in the evening for a proper session , after 5 minutes in here felt like it had been my local for years . Students ,tourists and locals all mix happily , love this pub and have fell in love with Betty Stogs.

Not a bad pub , full of character , beer fine . On my visit full of very annoying americans , 2 pints of your famous english beer , brakspear, spitfire or pride sir ? NO 2 pints amstell please . Got chatting to two of them told them Lord of the rings was based on a true story , tolkein had just jazzed it up a bit ! Thick t--ts believed me , God help us !

Decent beer , well kept and with a wide range , staff friendly and landlord knows his stuff . Locals friendly bunch but strangely very few seem to come from oakengates but travel in from all over ! Well worth a visit if your in the area .

The Claddagh, Oakengates

Now called the cladagh its a pseudo irish bar/disco , what a dump a mixture of chavs and middle age drunks sticky floors and very dodgy atmosphere . Steer well clear !

The Fox, Chetwynd Aston

Good beer , great food (belly pork is to die for) great looking barmaids (the wife says the blokes are not to bad ) would be 10 out of 10 if slightly cheaper and a bit nearer civilisation .

The Bridge Inn, Telford

Went late one saturday night first time in a few years , changed a bit , bar and lounge knocked into one large l shaped room , no mild on tap (used to be pubs best seller)atmosphere ok but felt out of place due to a lack of tattoos/piercings and that was just the woman !

The Bulls Head, Wrockwardine Wood

Decent beer (salopian] and a good range of bottled beer , service ok if not over friendly .Trouble is went on a sunday fairly quiet but nice , a couple weeks later went on a saturday night , lounge on two levels but still small half of which was taken by hard rock band ! the pub is to small for this so we went in the bar it is fantastic all tiled and stained glass , but not one person in there , barman seemed suprised anyone intrested in bar , this should be pubs highlight . Overall decent pub just not on a saturday !
