The Wheatsheaf, Borough

Great pub. Very sad to see that it's closing, will be a great loss of an excellent traditional pub. Visited on Monday to pay my last respects.

The Nutshell, Bury St Edmunds

I really enjoyed this pub, there was a guy in there who owns a pub just outside Ongar and had come up to see the brewery about something and insisted on buying everyone drinks in there.Good crowd and beer, and excellent for just watching the world go by.

The Jolly Brickmakers, Redhill

I called into this pub on Saturday morning and was very impressed, a good pub selling good beer and a friendly barmaid made my visit very enjoyable.

Top marks.

The Mitre, Paddington

Popped in on Saturday is now painted green outside, seems to have been opened up inside and is brighter.
I don't know what has happened to the two snugs and the cellar bar they seem to have disappeared.
A shame really it was a lot more atmospheric before, it's still pubby inside and there are a lot of old paintings and I seem to remember the stags head on the wall plus there are a good selection of real ales but I would like to know what happened to the cellar bar.

The Nell Gwynne, Covent Garden

I hope the Nell doesn't close it would be a crying shame if that happened.I live in North London but when I'm in Central London I try to pop in for a few, this is one of my favourite London pubs.
It's atmospheric, historic, dark and serves good beer.
What is wrong with these people who are hellbent on destroying our heritage and traditional pubs.
Long live the Nell.

The Fishmongers Arms, Southgate

Best pub in Southgate for me, the Landlord is very friendly and they now have a couple of real ales on London Pride and Adnams, the Pride was in excellent condition.

Pied Bull, Enfield

I visited this pub about 3 years ago and decided to re-visit it on Saturday. The food was very good but the service from one of the barmaids was diabolical,I was standing at the bar waiting to order my food and she just ignored me then when she brought the food to the table she just plonked the plate down and left me without a knife and fork, I had to get up and take some from another table, she didn't even ask me if I needed anything like vinegar- it would have been nice on the chips, I think she wanted to go on her break-go on a customer service course, love. The bloke behind the bar and the other barmaid were fine-she was very helpful, giving me a taxi number. As for the pub it has been unfortunately opened up and changed, I prefered it before the alterations.
