Attracts the worst kind of aggresive (mainly female) estate types. The karaoke is crap as well. If having loud lesbians yelling abuse at each other is your thing then go there.If not - avoid.

This place always stinks of incontinent old hags andmisplaced testosterone. God help you if you try to be friendly to any of the locals - you could end up surrounded by hoodie wearing louts who don't understand 'friendly' and seem to think that your "chattin' up me bird","chatting up me you effing batty boy", or worse. 0/10 for making no effort.

Haven't been in for a while,but I hope they have improved.My last visit consisted of a 25 minute wait for two pints of cider.Not good enough.Was it because we didn't want food?If so,it only helped us to make up our minds not to bother trying it.The pub itself looks grand,and the gardens are superb.But the staff....well the less said I think....

The Hammersmith Ram, Hammersmith
Great friendly bar with superb service.The beer is just right and,as has already been stated,compared with the majority of Hammersmith bars,a little oasis. 10/10 for helping to keep Hammersmith from sinking into chavsville altogether.

The Live and Let Live, West Kensington
Not quite as bad as the Seven Stars further down the road, however this is still a shite hole.What kind of pub needs about 10 tellys all on at the same time - especially one thats not much bigger than a shoebox? Vile woman behind the bar took my order and then rejoined her crusty looking mates,occasionaly giving 'Who the hell are you' glances at our group.Thank GOD for the sanctury of The Cumberland next door.

The Seven Stars, West Kensington
An absolute shite-hole.Quite possibly the worst bar in West Kensington.Barman got my order wrong & immediately blamed me.The fact that he was talking to some cheap estate slapper whilst he was supposed to be taking my order seemed to have completely passed him by. When the beer finally arrived,it tasted how I imagine the contents of the pubs disgusting toilets would taste.Add to that a threatening atmosphere,the worst karaoke you could ever imagine and drunken old tarts and chavs staggering around all over the place and you have a classic 0/10 boozer.Avoid at ALL costs.

The Cumberland Arms, West Kensington
Are you sure you were in the Cumberland annonymous? There AREN'T any tellys in there for a start so what you and the fat hairy gorillas were watching is anyones guess.
It is a great bar - by far the best in West Kensington.The food - although over priced - is very tasty and not your usual gammon & chips pub meals.The staff are amazingly well trained & friendly. I would recomend the Cumberland to anybody who liked good,reasonably priced beer,decent food,excelent service and a great atmosphere. If your idea of a good night out is sports and loud yelling and piss-taking then don't go to the Cumberland as you will be sorely dissapointed.

It would take more than a new broom to sweep this place clean.The last time I braved to enter,there seemed to be a large number of aggresive lesbians causing hassle to each & everyone.The beer is - as always - foul.The surroundings of the place require you to wear some kind of protective armour at all times.Perhaps if the whole area was fumigated,then the Norman might - just might - stand a chance.But I doubt it...

Because the staff turn a blind eye to all the seedy, nasty behaviour that occurs in there, that is why. This place is HELL ON EARTH.If you have never been in - avoid.
In all my years of visiting boozers in West London I have never been so dissapointed as to what has happened to the Hop Poles.Yes,you do get a few decent folk in there,but mostly it is full of the worst kind of trash immaginable. Lousy DJing,crap food,piss poor karaoke and disgusting beer make this place a prime contender for the bulldozers (in my humble opinion of course!!)
Passing by it yesterday (Monday) afternoon,I saw about 4 police cars & numerous on foot officers all piling into the Hop Poles.This is a regular occurence at this very unpleasent rat hole!!!

Crap hole.Full of leery loutish drunks and footie fans. Even the most hardened drinkers avoid this place as it attracts the kind of 2 pints and I rule the world & if you disagree Ill kick yer face in type of drinker. A prime candidate for the bulldozers.
