Better visited on an afternoon rather than an evening when it gets quite busy and service dramatically slowed down. During the day, however, nice pub but quite pricey.

Much better now than it has been in recent years. Full menu with simple, cheap food, although good quality nonetheless. Cheap on the prices, and spaced out enough that you don't feel particularly cramped. Good atmosphere.
Despite that, probably still best avoided late Saturday nights.

The Defector's Weld, Shepherds Bush
Went here for a friend's birthday. Very nice decor, good food, small but decent cocktail selection. Not enough bigger tables to accomodate larger parties, which is a shame, but otherwise nice.

The John Harvey Tavern, Lewes
Probably the best pub in Lewes? Great menu and really amazing food at decent prices. Staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Have eaten and drunk here many times and always find it an excellent time out.
