The Frankland Arms, Washington

had a nice meal there last week . A well known and loved pub and is very cozy in the winter and fab outside in the summer. Huge area and hikers/walkers etc welcome. In terms of beer was driving so a no no. Menu has changed since my last visit and no more lamb shank. Good though with an odd menu as nothing seem to link up . Not as fantastic as before but quality and quantity of food still a very good standard. Yummy desserts as well.

i understand now shut but not clear why. Rumour is due to noise issues ...sad really .well popular pub. hope they sort it and open soon

got to be honest , the last time i went here it was dreadful ! Kept away since . Tried again last week as a friend wanted to go and there has been a bit of a turnaround. Good waitress service and it was full on a thursday . mind you a 25% discount may have contributed. In fairness I could not faulty the food , yes i did say that ! and my friend who is a food critic to say the least had nothing to complain about except a slightly wobbly table. Have decided to give a better rating but mind you this place has gone up and down like a yoyo ever since it opened. I am slightly relieved as it is such a nice place to go to. Oh I note now run by someone called Kerry who I worked out was a female ! Thats a good sign .. Will give it another go soon to make sure it was not another one off

Tried this pub with a bunch of friends on a warm Sunday . Sat in the beer garden as it was sunny and inside was a bit stuffy and dark. Garden was busy , yet clean but there was loads of room . All ordered roasts , only a 15 min wait and the food was well presented and tasted great. Desserts were quite something , home made and tasted really nice . Bearing in mind most of my friends were chefs and critics the food went down well. Did overhear a few people who were expecting food in 5 minutes and felt the prices were a bit high. Some people just do not know the difference between process and fresh food nowadays. Thankfully they left after a drink which actually tasted nice so must have thrown them. Will try it again later in the summer to see if the experience is consistant

The Swan Inn, Worthing

Every time I go in this pub , it gets better and better. Good old fashioned layout but clean and staff are so nice. Light and airy .Lots of regulars and a good movement of people in and out in the evening . Plenty of seating for small and large groups although it does get busy. The DJ on a Friday plays all sorts of music from all era's and you end up singing along without realising it . Has a covered smoking area out the back with seating if you prefer. Really like this place.

used to be THE pub to go but is a massive joke now. Smells in there as well. I have also been a witness to a (different) incident involving a regular. I went to help the person and got asked to leave as I was not a regular - Bizarre ! Needless to say none of my friends will go in there now as quite frankly it is a joke of a place now .

Still very much a bit of a state decorating wise and needs some new furniture as most is old and scruffy. Beer garden has good decking but not clean and no decent furniture outside. Can't say the people in there are much friendly either, Needs some serious changes !!!

The Vintners Parrot, Worthing

Very much a drink after work pub, food is ok and not expensive. I love this pub as it is vibrant and music is uptodate and you get a feel good factor. Would personally avoid it when footie on as it is heaving and not a pleasant experience . Not nice when emply. Bar staff are good and always look busy. They also chat to customers assuming they know them of course. Not a place for a quiet drink with the other half and and al la carte really

The Swallows Return, Worthing

I knew things were not fab here given friends comments but gave it another go. Firstly once of the main specials was all gone by 8pm, not told about this when we arrived. My guests were gutted and had to chose second best .The wine glasses served with the wine were dirty and the replacments the same . In fairness food was ok but the miserable staff just did not want to be there. The manager could be heard screaming at kitchen staff and I heard at least two crashes of dropped plates and cutlery. Oh yes, no loo roll in the toilet. This place needs to get its act together again . It is simple things that need attending to . The food takes nice and they have some great wines at decent prices. Get it sorted please!!
