The Engine Inn, Penzance

Shocking pint of Betty Stoggs which was definitely on the turn. The Mrs was served up a diet coke which was flatter than water. Barman commented that he was waiting for the syrup to run out. I suggest that if he knew it was about to run out then perhaps he should have already changed it rather than try it out on a customer. Very disappointing. As the drinks were so disappointing we decided not to stay for the food.

The Pembury Tavern, Hackney

Visited this pub last Friday - sat at the bar with a couple of old workmates. Beer was excellent & the Guvnor was very knowkedgable about his brews. Tried all of the Milton on offer. Excellent stout but Spartan was my favourite. It's a pity more people aren't aware of the pub as it was relatively quiet for a Friday night

The Star Inn, Bath

Great pub. I organised a Stag night for a friend last year and the Guvnor was brilliant. Wisely he kept us away from the locals and laid on a very reasonably priced beer & pastie evening! A Yard of Ale for the Groom - everybody enjoyed the evening immensely. Oh, and the beer is great too!

The Old Cross Tavern, Hertford

I'm pretty new to Hertford and I love this pub. The range of ales is great and think it's a pretty friendly place. I'd encourage all to get down there for a pint.
