The Feathers Hotel, Ludlow

We called in on Friday evening. Liked the place, really enjoyed the beer, and got good service. No axe to grind. No manipulation. Genuinely!

The Kings Fee, Hereford

Lunched here, and pleasant surprise. A former supermarket now a Spoon's with good service, and local beers (Hereford Brewery) as well as the usual nationals. Reasonable pint of Mutts Nutts 5%. Food was OK and quite cheap. A better example for this outfit.

The Barrels, Hereford

Brilliant pub. Wye Valley Brewery establishment, with superb beer. Very well kept, crystal clear pint. Pleasant enough bar, bit basic, but it's a proper ale pub, so don't expect food etc. Well impressed!

The Church Inn, Ludlow

Being an avid real ale drinker I was keen to try this place especially it being in the Good Beer Guide. Was promptly served a pint of clearly 'off' beer only to be told repeatedly in a condescending tone that it was supposed to taste like that (without them trying it too I might add). I've worked in a pub for years and know an off pint when I taste one! 'Light and hoppy' it was not- cheese was the overriding flavour and I was taken aback by the patronising and rude customer service.

They clearly do not care about customers or show the courtesy to be even vaguely polite to their paying customers. Disgraceful!

The Feathers Hotel, Ludlow

This is a great bar serving terrific quality real ales. Called in on Friday for pre-dinner drinks. The beer was on format, especially the Ludlow Best and Hobsons Old Prickly. We kept, good flavour, excellent clarity. 10/10.

We liked the relaxed atmosphere and surroundings, plus the pleasure of no damned background music!

Great beer and staff who know how to keep a good beer. We'll be back next time we're in Ludlow.

The Bull Hotel, Ludlow

Hell, not good. Really bad beer and service. Some here really doesn't care.

Ludlow Brewery, Ludlow

Unlike some, it was quite transparent to us that the brewery is now housed in an old railway shed.

Found full range of Ludlow beers, all excellent and at a good price. Superb location with character. Certainly worth seeing!

The Drum and Monkey, Glasgow

The Drum is awesome. With up to five real ales on this makes it a perfect place to sample some award-winning craft ales.

The food is good, if not spectacular, and reasonably priced.

Yes the bar can get very loud and very busy... but that's not that bad a thing.

The Blackfriars, Glasgow

Top notch beer pub here, with friendly and knowledgable staff and also good value gastro-pub style grub.

They have a good selection of max 5 real ale hand pulls as well as some great craft beers in their fridge (which can be very pricey) and on keg.

If you're around Merchant City and you appreciate good beer you must go here!

The Codsall Station, Codsall

Estaff llent condition beer, good food, great staff and reasonable prices - what more could you want.

This building used to be the Codsall station, but it is now a great little pub, full of railway memorabilia, with a cosy atmosphere. The beer is predominantly Holdens, but there are several guest ales. Holden's Black Country Bitter and Holden's Golden Glow both in superb condition. Highly recommended!

The Sun, Stafford

Twelve handpumps dispense a great choice of Titanic beers, and changing guest beers. At least one cider is available. Food is served throughout the day, and is good pub grub. Staff are usually knowledgable and always friendly. But the best bit of all is the atmosphere . A proper pub, no music, pool tables or lager louts.
