The Manor Arms, Clapham

Great boozer.

Good points -
1. fantastic location - just off the high street so is usually frequented by people who like a good pub and not necessarily a Saturday night in Clapham.
2. friendly staff
3. outdoor space and a genius tent out the back for watching sport or having parties
4. it's got proper pub decor.
5. it's a boozer.

Not so good -
1. not sure why they painted the outside black.

The Phoenix, Victoria

My verdict would be: really nice pub, but...

It's good, especially because a lot of the pubs near Victoria Stn are touristy or skanky. The decor is nice, it's clean, the drinks taste good and the food can be delicious.

However, it does get rammed with the after work crowd so you need to be early or friendly!

Worse than that though - the service on the food side of things can leave something to be desired (or specifically items just not arriving) but if you stalk the waiter it is actually ok (not ideal, I know).

The Bridge House Tavern, Penge

I thoroughly agree with Garlando5!

This pub is a fantastic addition to the area and is a much more attractive proposition than many of the other local pubs.

The food is delicious, the choice of drinks is good, it's well priced, the atmosphere is warm and friendly and the staff are helpful. What more can you ask for?

I regularly meet friends in here and we've never been disappointed.

Definitely worth a visit!

Also there are some great photograph canvasses on the wall by Neil Williams who has a stall in Dulwich.
