The State Bar, Glasgow

Comfortable, felt nice. No issues. I did not like the beer I choose (plenty available (atleast 3)) , but it was good, not to my taste, OK. Will go back

The Railway Hotel, Cheam

Much improved. Beers good, prices good, service good. Real fire. Gets quite crowded. Friendly.

The Grapes, Sutton

I think the Facilities listed above are now wrong, no pool table, no quiz machinces (i don't think), didn't see Sky TV.
Normal Wetherspoons, great improvement over recent ownership.

The Crown, Sutton

Freindly. A bit cliecky. every one checks out new arrivals, I don't think it's meant in a bad way.Good food lunch times. Beers fine. Glasses are clean, Prices are not exceptional.

The Bell Inn, Cheam

Staff are fine. Beers are OK, shame they stopped doing TEA (Traditional English Ale), haven't seen it anywhere else, if you do its a good session bitter. Layout and ventalation seems good, not too smokey, even with quite a few smokers.

The Railway Hotel, Cheam

It's being decorated.
Maybe they will serve food or change the sign?
Not unfreindly.

Ye Olde Red Lion, Cheam

Building is really special, but can be difficult to move around (to the toilets, just getting in can be a problem sometimes). Can get very smokey, low ceilings. Staff, freindly, reasonably efficient, although some of the customers can make the service slow. Beers fine. Eat there a couple of months ago, was good, but they seem to have changed the menu. Food still looks good, but I haven't tried this menu.

The New Town, Sutton

Been in a couple of lunch times, barman seems freindly enough. Not overly quick, but there was no rush. 1 good pint, 1 medeoche. Locals not overtly freindly, but not unpleasant. Didn't eat, but didn't like the look of the sandwiches served. Will probably keep trying this occasionally.

The Hermitage Hotel, Bournemouth

Hotel Bar, open to public.
Comfortable and welcoming.
Keg beers.

The Harbour Lights, Bournemouth

Its a beefeater/brewers fayre... type resturant pub.
The foods good and cheap.
The beer is unexceptional and OK for price. Wines aren't bad and well priced.
Staff freindly and competent
Great view over the pier.
Worth a visit.

The Moon in the Square, Bournemouth

Its a Weatherspoon's. Beer and food are cheap.
Staff are variable, some are really quite good, most aren't.
Interesting layout, lots of stairs, lots of levels/floors. Really nice mirrors.
Wide range of real ales, some are very nice.

The Punch and Judy, Bournemouth

Didn't feel comfortable when I first went in. Feels rundown. But was freindly enough once you were in. No one was drinking bitter, so I went for a lager, it was OK.

Goat and Tricycle, Bournemouth

Good beers. Freindly staff. Food is normally good (had one medioche meal). Lots of hats around the bar? Interesting garden, with Dwarves (not gnomes). Seems to be an art studio upstairs. Well worth hunting out, its not the easiest place to spot.

The Frankenstein, Aberdeen

Interesting theme pub. Beers fine. Freindly staff. Well worth a visit.

10 Feb 2006 21:18

Carriages, Aberdeen

Nice Hotel Bar. Down stairs, its big. Lots of good real ales.

10 Feb 2006 21:03

The Grill, Aberdeen

As per Harlequin, drinkers bar. Beers are good, good selection of malts, and the barmen know them and can help this poor sasenack to enjoy them. Freindly, if a bit daunting. Pub snack food is good. There is a really good Fish and Chip shop through the back door.

10 Feb 2006 20:59

The Sutton Arms, Sutton

Beer is variable, occasionally good, mostly not. Smokey, tables dirty, sticky, smell of stale beer. Most of the staff are efficient, I wouldn't say freindly. Its dark and cramped, I don't like it.

10 Feb 2006 20:35

The Little Windsor, Sutton

Good Bitters, freindly. Very small, can be very crowded. Garden at the back. Its a bit off the beaten track, worth wondering to sometimes.

10 Feb 2006 20:24

The Dolphin, Sutton

There are worse in sutton

27 Jan 2006 00:07

The Grapes, Sutton

The Stella's good. Bar staff are quick, but in a laid back sort of way (lunch times). I hope they are refurbing the toilets, no water, no hand drier, no flush?
I thought they did food, but bar staff eating KFC at the bar?
No one clears or cleans anything. Lots of TV screens, 3 pool tables, strange collection of balls, lots of different sizes.

27 Jan 2006 00:02

The Moon on the Hill, Sutton

Beer's normally good (ish) when it's on, lots frequently off.
Staff range from unhelpful to incompetent.
Lunchtime it's not too bad, and the price is good.
I'm told the food is fair to good.

26 Jan 2006 23:50

The Old Bank, Sutton

Generally good helpful staff. Good beer. I wouldn't go out of my way to get here, but better than most in Sutton main high street.

26 Jan 2006 23:27

The Claret Wine Bar, Cheam Village

Welcoming, both staff and clients. Didn't notice the price, assume they must be average. At least a couple of bitters, seem to be good.

1 Dec 2005 22:35

The Harrow Inn, Cheam

Strange place, varies dramatically. Beer's normally OK, if a bit expensive. Service from very welcoming through to rude. Generally clean, but can be very smoky.

1 Dec 2005 22:26

The Prince Of Wales, Cheam

As per DisgruntledLocal, new management, not good.
