Dylan's, Lewisham

As a previous reviwer said this pub has now reverted to its original and historic name of The Joiners Arms.

The landlord is indeed affable and when I said I had not been in for years he said there was no charge for my pint and that he hoped I would be back again. Now that's customer service!

Sporting fixtures on SkyTV and a good place to pop in for a pint of Youngs (this was on handpump on my last visit).

A proper pub and well worth a visit

The Talbot, Lewisham

A major refurbishment for this pub. Nice decor, real ales, seating area outside. I didn't try the food but menu looked good. Clean and friendly. A boost for the neighbourhood.

The Sydney Arms, Lewisham

I have lived in the area for years but have never been to the Sydney. I was suprised to find a perfectly decent local NOT the grim pub suggested by nrj746. Yes, it is a basic local but I felt perfectly at home here.

The Rising Sun, Lewisham

A big improvement after recent refubishment. I found it friendly, decent service and nice beer garden at the back. Excellent for watching the footy as you can see a screen from wherever you stand. London Pride on handpump.

The Dacre Arms, Lee

The best pub within miles. I couldn't recommend more highly. Well kept real ale, friendly, clean, traditional. Better than anything in Blackheath.

Yates's, Lewisham

This could be a good pub, especially for football, but is spoiled because:

1. People are allowed to sit in the best seats for viewing the footy and often do not buy any drinks. I object to subsidizing these people.

2. There is no enforcement of the no smoking areas. On one afternoon not only did people smoke, but one person brought in his own can of beer! Nothing was said.
