The Fox and Fiddler, Colchester

Excellent selection of Might Oak ales, all well kept. Home cooked food is just that and good value.

An oasis in an otherwise real ale desert. Good selection of changing ales with friendly service

The Fox and Hounds, Belgravia

Generally fine all though Landlady and staff could be more friendly. However on last visit on a Sunday had run out of ale. Not a good sign!

The Moon and Starfish, Clacton On Sea

Worst Wetherspoons I've ever visited, filthy, bad service and 'interesting' locals. Beer selection is limited and quality is poor

The Bell Inn, Thorpe Le Soken

Concentrates on food although usually has 3 real ales on all of a reasonable standard

16 Sep 2006 11:17

The Plough, Clacton On Sea

Now re-opened but still to visit

Ronnie's Bar, Clacton On Sea

Being completely rebuilt after being destroyed by fire. We live in hope that a good pub will emerge!

The Martello Inn, Clacton-on-Sea

Another food pub in the Brewers Fayre range right on the seafront.

22 Jul 2006 22:30

The Plough, Clacton On Sea

Badly damaged by fire over a year ago. Not yet re-opened.

22 Jul 2006 22:26

The Queens Arms, Clacton On Sea

No real ale despite presence of hand pumps. Not a friendly welcome either. Best avoided.

22 Jul 2006 22:25

The Old Lifeboat House, Clacton on Sea

CAMRA's only recommended pub in Clacton! Usually 3 real ales on and excellent friendly service. Well worth a visit
