The Green Man, Denham

Visited this pub last Sunday. The place not that busy but was clearly understaffed for the customers they did have. Food appeared to be a problem as the bar staff were reluctant to provide my wife with a menu. Later one of our party asked at the bar for menu and was refused. He asked if he found a menu, would the pub take his order. He was told "not for 20 minutes". The menu gave all the usual crap about "hand cut chips" and all that jazz. My chips were no better than MacDonalds. At least at Macs they are hot and crisp not like warm and soggy. My advise is to give this place a miss and go elsewhere. There are plenty of other pubs in Denham. The management and staff at the Green Man want to learn some manners

Junction Inn, Norbury Junction

Used this pub recently whilst on a canal holiday. It was a sunny Sunday afternoon and the place was busy. Builders bum and tattoos everywhere and that was just the women! The female behind the bar firstly insisted that if was wished to drink outside we would have to use plastic glasses...YUK. So I declined that offered and started to head for the door only to be told that we could have real glasses but only if we promised to return them to the bar......big deal. Not a very user friendly place, but sadly Hobsons choice!!!

The Queens Head, Green Street Green

My family use this pub for meals as it is within easy travelling distance of our home. Although the service can be a little slow when the pub is busy, it is still acceptable. The food is good value, the drinks reasonably priced and the staff always very pleasant.

The Grand Junction Arms, Bulbourne

Made use of this pub today whilst visiting a friend in the area. We used this particular pub as my friend is confined to a wheelchair and the access to the pub/restaurant area for anyone in a wheelchair is excellent. We spent a few enjoyable hours here. The meals we had were very good in both quantity and quality. Although neither of us are "beer buffs", there seemed to be a good range of beers. Those beers we sampled were well kept. Also found the management and staff very friendly and helpful. We will certainly be returning.

The Greyhound, Wigginton

Visited this pub with a party of 15 walkers. I had previously visited the pub and had been provided with a copy of their Walking Group Menu and asked to phone in our food requirements on the morning of the walk. This worked very well. The food was of excellent quality and the portions large. However be prepared for a short wait as it is freshly cooked. The "beer buffs" within the group were pleased with the selection of beers available. The management and staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. All in all , a very good day out. 10/10

The Surrey Yeoman, Dorking

Went to the Dorking Halls for an evening concert and found this pub as a place to get a pre-concert meal. Drink wise I stuck with Coke as I was driving, but the range of beers appeared to be very good. This included my normal pre-meal tipple: Aspels cider. I chose the gammon double egg and chips for the meal which was very good and considering it was only £4:99 was excellent value for money. If I ever re-visit the Dorking Halls, I would certainly use this pub again.

The Swan, Great Kimble

Visited this pub at lunch time with a party of 23 walkers. We had not made any pre-arrangements with the pub but the management and staff were extremely welcoming and coped very well with us all. Every one was delighted with the range of drinks available and the food was plentiful and of very good quality. We had to wait a little while for the food to be prepared but it was all freshly cooked and there was a lot of us. Would highly recommended this pub.

Stag and Hounds, Farnham Common

Visited this pub on 22 July 2013. A fine selection of beers and reasonably priced. However, I found the food well over priced and not very good. £11 (YES - ELEVEN POUNDS) for haddock and chips served (for some reason) on a wooden platter. Not much of it and well over cooked. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. There are two other pubs near by and they cannot possibly be as RUBBISH as this one.

The Seven Stars, Ripley

Used this pub a week ago whilst on a walk with my local walking group. The beer was OK but well over priced. Did not personally sample the food but friends that did said that is was well cooked. Apart from our walking group, the place was very quiet for a summer Saturday lunch time.

The Rose of Lancaster, Chadderton

Used this pub recently whilst on a canal holiday. Was getting served at the bar when some stroppy female member of staff, resembling a Japanese sniper pilot told me to remove my baseball cap. Get real dear........ this is well below average pub in Lancashire, not the Ritz in London.

The Boars Head, Aust

Discovered this pub last year whilst staying at the local Travelodge. Made use of the pub again this year on four consecutive days for our evening meals. Found the beer well kept and very reasonably priced. The food was excellent, with a good choice and again reasonably priced. The food is cooked to order and NOT a re-heat job, therefore you wait for it. Bar staff were also very friendly. Well done and more importantly....LONG MAY IT CONTINUE

The White Hart, New Haw

Visited the pub recently in preparation for leading a walk for my local walking group. The pub and the food are fine but the prices charged for the beer are a big joke......3:85 for pint of ordinary draught cider and 4:15 for pint of Guinness. Visted again on Saturday 20 August 2011, with the walking group. We arrived at about 1 PM and there were two customers in the bar area and none in the garden .Yes TWO customers for a Saturday lunchtime!!!!!! Need I say more?
