The Clifton Arms, Bolton

Much better than it was but there is a homosexual Irish man who believes that he in some way connected to the Pope who is constantly at the bar! He WILL preace "the word of the Lord" to you (if you are male) before trying to grope you. Furthermore, he pays homeless, heroin addicts for sexual favours (and is really quite open about it).
Nice pub though.

The Brierfield, Bolton

Just been renovated! They have apparently spent �500,000 on doing this place up and it certainly looks the part! The beer is good too, digital jukebox and very clean.
Don't think there is a pool table anymore though and the tapas menu has nothing on La Tascas in town!
Still a quality pub though and whilst many pubs in Astley Bridge are falling apart, this one looks like it actually has a future!

Live music on a Saturday night and the Thatchers cider is rocket fuel! Friendly bar staff and a great juke box (come on the Houghton Weavers haha)!

Nightmare! Their is no draft coke so it will be flat and warm from an old bottle. Possibly the worst pub on Blackburn Road.

Very smokey pub. The smoking ban will surely improve this place!!! The bar man is also quite a grumpy young man.
