The Coach and Horses, Bishops Stortford

Went for the Sunday roast yesterday (Dec 12th). The beef was excellent value for money. Nice couple of pints of Sharp's Doom Bar to help it down. Fuller's London Pride on too.

The Queens Head and Artichoke, Regents Park

Well worth a visit. Last Friday (Dec10th) very crowded but speed of service acceptable. Five ales on hand pumps: TTaylor's Landlord (being changed); Marston's Pedigree; Adnam's Bitter; Sharp's Cornish Coaster and Sharp's Abbey Christmas.

Coco Momo, Marylebone

It was better as the Rising Sun!
The relaunch as Dusk was dire.
The rerelaunch as CocoMomo was interesting initially
Food is good but slow for lunchtimes.
No real ale on draught but some bottle conditioned.

The Tudor Rose, Marylebone

Good pint of Pride, full measure.
Pub grub is cheap&cheerful and quick. (fish&chips, sausage&mash, ...)
Gents in basement, Ladies and function room upstairs.
Was "The Lincoln in Marylebone" or "The Lincoln Inn Marylebone"
then (briefly) the "William Wallace" before that name went round the corner to the Bricklayers / Gunmakers.

The Gate, Sawbridgeworth

Good range of ales, changing frequently.
Excellent for TV sport - at least three screens with different channels.

The Queens Head, Allens Green

Mini-festivals on the third weekend of most months are a treat. Good range of bitters at other times plus Oscar Wild mild.

The Prince of Wales, Green Tye

Proper village pub with the Green Tye Brewery out back.
Excellent Union Jack bitter. Usually two local beers on tap.
Single dartboard.

The Apollo, Marylebone

Reopened 3pm Nov17th (no food until Nov19th).
Visited Nov17th evening. Fully redecorated but similar layout to before.
Staff still in training mode. Couldn't find lo-cal tonic so barstaff went to corner shop opposite to buy to do G&T for one of our group.
Unfair to rate on opening day but looks a solid 5.
Current photo "Firkin Beer Co" is several years old!
