Mizen Head Hotel, Bamburgh

My wife and I had a couple of meals here during September. The Mizen has definitely made a reputation for itsself and I would advise booking if you want to make certain of getting a table. The food is impecable and is served in an unhurried manner by the friendly staff. Some innovate starters are on the ever changing menu and it took my 20 minutes to make up my mind for starter and main course. Portion sizes are on the large side so come with a healthy appetite.

Mizen Head Hotel, Bamburgh

Now completely refurbished and is basically an eatery with a small bar area and some residential rooms. Food is definately worth a visit but I wouldn't go there just for a drink. Seafood a speciality me thinks including fresh oysters when available and mussels in a number of different ways.

The Lord Clyde, Kerridge

Good food but you would probably need to book at peak times as it isn't very big. Great for a stop in on a short trip out

The Ladybrook, Bramhall

Geoffc should have looked down at the end of the bar. There are still six real ale pumps and beers on tap and apart from boddies they change regularly including Jennings Cumbeland, Tetley's etc so not all beers from doe south. The make over has been tastefully done but they could have given the toilets a better treatment.

New management team of Adge and Mike have made a promising start. Mini refurb planned for end October. Beer in good shape but they need to sort out their orders as for the first time in my memory they ran out of Boddies!

The Ladybrook has had yet another change of Manager. I am sorry to see Sarah go. On the plus side Sharps Doombar is now a regular beer on the bar.

The Ladybrook, Bramhall

The Ladybrook has taken a backward step by hiking their draft beer prices by 15p per pint in the middle of a recession. The news on the street is that this wasn't the decision of the landlady but area management. I wonder what they will do when they see their revenues plummet?

The Craster Arms, Beadnell Bay

August Bank Holiday Saturday saw the successful staging or a free 12 hour music festival called "Crastonbury". I would personally like to thank Michael and his staff for putting on such a enjoyable event. I am sure there are many more surprises to come from the Craster Arms team

The Craster Arms, Beadnell Bay

The pub has installed a Marquee in the garden for the duration of the world cup with a very large screen and some interesting offers on beer and whitby wholetail scampi

If you want a good pork pie just go around the corner to the Kings Head. Proper ones there.

The Ladybrook, Bramhall

The Ladybrook has gone from strength to strength with an imaginative range of continually changing guest beers that have managed to achieve Cask Margue recognition

The food is good value too and no I am not the landlord.
