Lord Hood, Greenwich

Next time you come to the Hood, bring sunglasses -there's a new carpet. Also the Wednesday modern jazz sessions have restarted with the addition of wonderful homecooked curry (3 and 4.50). Otherwise it is still the best community pub in the area, with a choice of real ales -Courage Best and Bombadier.

Lord Hood, Greenwich

With most of the other local pubs aiming at the yuppy/tourist market, the Lord Hood now has by far the cheapest beer in the area -e.g. 2 a pint for real ale compared with 2.50 in most other local pubs

Lord Hood, Greenwich

Now has traditional folk music on Tuesday night and modern jazz by Meantime, a jam session hosted by Trinity College music students.

The Plume of Feathers, Greenwich

A beautiful pub - if you come from outside England and you want to experience a "pub" - come here as you will feel the atmosphere, the beer, the cosiness, the football, and the food's OK too. Child friendly by the way which is no bad thing given the nearby park.

Hardys Freehouse, Greenwich

One of the best pubs in Greenwich - if you're Irish the very best (ie. not a "theme" Irish but real) Great to watch football to - some passion there, and a good selection of real ales. Quiz night is good too.

The Lost Hour, Greenwich

This is a typical example of a shit pub where I once asked for a pint of beer only to be told that they didn't actually know what beer was, they didn't serve any and the only thing on offer was crap lager, alcopops and other such unenticing fare. Immaturity is the rule here, pay large amounts of money for a crap experience if that's what you want. For a football experience you'd be better off at Hardys or the Lord Hood.

The Morden Arms, Greenwich

Earlier comments are rubbish. This is a good honest local real ale and music pub with local characters and a friendly environment. It's a drinkers pub, but no food served. Great dogs by the way - a genuine Greenwich pub, but without the soap opera of the Lord Hood locally.

The Trowel and Hammer, Lowestoft

Supposedly the oldest pub in Lowestoft - very characterful, helpful staff, and a good selection of real ale

The Triangle Tavern, Lowestoft

Popped in for a New Year pint. This is a serious real ale pub with friendly, character punters and a rich slate of real ales constantly changing. Didn't hear the live music but plenty advertised. Do make this your pub of choice in central Lowestoft

Lord Hood, Greenwich

This is the best "local" pub in the Greenwich area, the only one with a full music licence. Recently installed real ale option and a full programme of live music including a jazz brunch on Thursday lunchtimes, a Sinatra singalong and jazz with a free buffet on Sunday afternoon and evenings and a skiffle session on Monday night. Always friendly and the barmaids !
