The Jewellers Arms, Hockley

One wonders why a Landlord would enter into the trade if he's not a people person. This Landlord could hardly raise a grunt let alone a smile

The Queens Head, Rye

I went in as I had heard good things about this pub and it's wish to serve local beer. Unfortunately when myself and Mrs flowerdelivery arrived a number of the beers were off and food was not being served because they were out of stock.

Shortly after we had managed to order a pint another couple came in and order archers and lemonade - You've guessed it, no archer, no malibu either.

It really did feel as though were we sitting in a pub that was selling off the last of it's stock with no intention of ordering some more. I do hope this is wrong as from what I can gather has only been taken over in the past year and I would hate to see another real ale pub disappear

The Ship Inn, Rye

I'm a little shocked at the poor rating this pub has received. Having recently moved to Rye and a fan of real ale I popped in. I was met with a well designed pub with shabby chairs and artwork on the walls which just suited the town of Rye. The don't serve any alco pops or vodka and redbulls in this place which made me especially pleased.

The barmaids were friendly and attractive. A quality that is a must for a player such as myself.

The Standard Inn, Rye

I recently moved down to the area and took a few friends into Rye for the evening. Whilst this pub looked appealing from the outside we went in and noticed what I can only describe as a crust down the outside of the beer taps. That along with a pungent smell of cleaning products put us off ordering a pint.

It maybe a good pub but I wasn't prepared to take my chance with this one as I was concerned the inside of the lines were as filthy as the taps

The Pilot Inn, Lydd

Having just moved to the area the wife and I popped to dungeness. I think that this pub is in a unique position in that it doesn't have any competition and the majority of it's trade are tourists and not locals.

The beer isn't great and the chap who I presume to be the owner needs to brush up on his customer service skills.

I won't be going back but I doubt many people do.
