Signs have appeared saying pub closed for refurbishment and will be opening soon under new management.

Pub may well be closed. Certainly not open during the day, doors shut and licensee plate no longer above entrance.

Pub shut for redecoration until at least mid March according to notice on front door.

Went for some food and a quick drink on a Saturday night. Bar was crowded and understaffed with only 2 people working, waited 15 minutes for a drink and was told food would take at least 30 minutes.
Would suggest this place best avoided between 6.30 and 7.30pm on a Saturday night if my visit anything to go by.

The Griffin, Shoreditch
Has reopened after a refurbishment. Beers on the expensive side ranging from £4.40 to £7 a pint. Not many recognisable brands to be seen. No food apart from expensive 'nibbles'. Reasonable bar staff and the place was quiet when i visited. Apart from the cost of beer, the place seemed reasonable.
Was told by the bar staff that the place has no telephone, so ignore any phone numbers you might see for here.
