Paper Mill, Hemel Hempstead

When we moved to the area in 2012 the food was good and well-priced. Since then the quality of the food has gone down, but prices have risen. Still a nice place for a pint, with plenty of room if you have kids (or want to sit away from them!) but food could be much better.

The Oddfellows Arms, Hemel Hempsted

Always friendly and a good place for ale and a chat. Good variety of live music too. Recently had some new signage and a coat of paint, so looks nicer, with still the same focus on music and a good time.

The Spotted Bull, Hemel Hempstead

Recently had a refurb and a facelift in a cosy-hipster style. Looks nice, will definitely check it out and hopefully it's another step in Apsley's regeneration.
