Grog and Gruel, Fort William

A must for any real ale drinker, not only excellent beer (some beers also changed daily) but a good choice of food. The best pub in Fort william.

The Oban Inn, Oban

Did not have much time in Oban so went on the recommendations. Was not disappointed, nice pub, good beer. What more would you want.

The Quayside Inn, Falmouth

Excellent pub, good selection of real ales. Staff very friendly, atmosphere good. Also does very good food. In the evening best to try the downstairs bar, this leads out onto the quayside. One of the best pubs i have been in for years.

The Kent Hounds, Well Hill

Unfortunately this pub has now closed. Try the Rock & Fountain if you are in this area.

The Standard Inn, Rye

Really nice old pub, not full of tourists. Had Bombadier, Harveys & Archers on tap, also good reasonably priced food.

The Kent Hounds, Well Hill

Couldn't agree more about the owner, he has no idea of how to deal with the public. But it is a shame that it is closing as the loss of another pub is a great shame especially as this location is excellent.

Suggest anyone in this area should try the Rock & Fountain just down the road.
