The Dog House, Kennington

It was an afternoon and the place was dead. But the Sharpe's Atlantic and Tribute on the pumps were in excellent condition.

The Fox and Pheasant, Fulham

Called in on Friday afternoon. It was absolutely dead. Lovely little pub with loads of character. The bar staff were friendly enough whilst watching the snooker. Green King beers were well kept.

The Trafalgar, Chelsea

Not that bad. Deuchers and Hobgoblin on the pumps. Had the Deuchers. It was fine. Only had one and moved on.

3 May 2016 10:03

The Builders Arms, Chelsea

Called in on a Friday afternoon to escape the Spring snow. Nice enough inside but definitely more of an eatery than a pub. Had to take the first pints back, and the Youngs ordinary that replaced them was nothing special. Friendly staff though.

The Queens Head, Chelsea

Nice, quiet pub on a Friday afternoon. Brains SA was very pleasant.

The Ale Wagon, Leicester

Doesn't deserve such a low rating. A bit of an 'old man's' pub but that is in no way a bad thing. A load of local beers on the pumps. I can't remember the names, but the 3 I tasted were all in good condition. Would happily go back.

The Refectory, Golders Green

Went on a Sunday. Not awful. No ales but lots of lagers, including some decent imports. Big screens showing the footy, and some very cheap food which wasn't half bad.

2 Sep 2015 13:37

The Old Kings Head, Borough

Worth noting that it's £3 a pint from 4 until 7 on Monday-Thursday. And that the Tribute was very drinkable. Proper Job, Harveys and DoomBar were also on the taps.

7 Aug 2014 14:21

The Wheatsheaf, Bough Beech

Open again now. Westerham beers on the pumps. Good atmosphere, huge garden and very well kept beer.

20 Apr 2014 11:07

The Star Inn, Talybont on Usk

Probably one of the best pubs in Britain.

3 Jan 2013 10:33

St James Tavern, Winchester

Great little boozer. All the Wadsworth beers were on good form. Food was reasonable too.

12 Nov 2012 09:31

The Westgate Inn, Winchester

Friendly little pub. Had a couple of pints of Ringwood on Saturday. Well kept. Very nice.

12 Nov 2012 09:28

The Camel, Bethnal Green

Not bad at all. Brewers Gold and Sambrooks beers on draft. Food was a nice selection of pies (served with mash, and mushy peas). Tasted good.Would happily go back.

2 Nov 2012 08:40

The Mayfly, Chilbolton

Beautifully located pub. Well kept Fullers/Gales beers on the pumps. But it was 4.10 for a pint of HSB!!!

26 Sep 2012 16:39

The General Wolfe, Westerham

Abbott was very good. GK IPA and 1 guest also on the pumps. Didn't eat but the Sunday lunch looked great.

16 Sep 2012 17:27

Royal Oak Inn, Staffhurst Wood

Eaten there half a dozen times. Never had a complaint. Drink there fairly regularly. Never had a bad pint.

9 Jul 2012 15:42

The Wheatsheaf, Oxted

Bombardier and Hobgoblin on draft on Saturday. Both well kept.

9 Jul 2012 15:28

The Rock, Chiddingstone Hoath

Cracking little pub. The larkins was very well kept. As was the cotleigh golden seahawk. There was another cotleigh available and they had stowford press on draft and some other cider in bottles. Didn't eat, but the menu looked tasty enough.Irrelevant of the arguments below, well worth a visit .

30 Jun 2012 14:31

The Castle Inn, Chiddingstone

5.9/10 is unfair. The Larkins was excellent, the surroudings are lovely and the bar staff were very helpful. I will certainly go back.

29 Jun 2012 09:26

The White Horse, Sundridge

Called in on the weekend. Good service. Not too expensive. Had a lovely pint of Fullers Summer Ale. Didn't eat, but the place seems much better than 3/10.

6 Jun 2012 12:08

The Rose and Crown, Limpley Stoke

Called in for lunch. Had a very nice burger and chips. Excellent service, and the Butcombe was on good form.

2 Apr 2012 10:35

The Royal Oak, Crockham Hill

Booked the pub for a party (18 people), and it was a great success. The Westerham beers were on very fine form (especially the Bulldog). We also had some excellent red wines. The food was extremely tasty, and the staff were all wonderful. I can't compliment them enough.

Always worth a visit for the beer anyway.

2 Apr 2012 10:33

The Chequers Inn, Ettington

Deserves better than it's rating. Was in the hotel opposite (4.95 a Perroni), and escaped for a few beers. Tribute, Pride and Green King IPA on the pumps. Tribute was well kept. Seemed like a nice enough place.

9 Mar 2012 11:05

The George, Old Oxted

Badger beers in good condition and a very helpful landlord. Well worth a visit.

5 Mar 2012 09:59

The Haycutter, Oxted

19 Dec 2011 14:50

The Diamond, Hurst Green

Sadly closed now. Gutted.

25 Oct 2011 11:58

The Carpenters Arms, Limpsfield Chart

Called in the other day. Friendly enough place. Westerham's British Bulldog was excellent. Stowford Press, likewise. Wish I hadn't been driving

25 Oct 2011 11:56

The Red Lion, St James

Fullers always on good form, but certain bar staff will make you ask for a full pint.

2 Sep 2011 10:28

The Kilvert's Hotel, Hay on Wye

Seems like a decent place, but they had a bit of a mare on Saturday. All draft lagers were off. No problem for me, but try telling your weak lager drinking mother that the only lagers available are bottles of Leffe and Budvar Dark! Butty Bach and Old Rosie Cider were excellent, but couldn't stay to eat due to lack of lager.

12 Apr 2011 10:48

Blue Boar, Hay On Wye

Pleasently surprsed given the other comments. Decent beer in good condition(Doom Bar & Bass), and the food was wasn't bad at all.

12 Apr 2011 10:42

The Boat Inn, Penallt

Visited on the weekend. Great pub in a great location. Wonderful selection of ciders and Wye Valley Ales on good form. Will definitely not be driving when I go back.

12 Apr 2011 10:40

The Duke Of York, Chiswick

In there on Friday with a mate. Good pint of Pride. Place was a lot quieter than it deserved to be. But that meant we had the pool table to ourselves for a couple of hours. Decent dart board there too.

20 Mar 2011 22:32

The Fentiman Arms, Kennington

Not at all cheap. Had a very ropey pint of Broadside, before settling for the Aspalls Cider. Food was good but expensive (About 11 for Bangers & Mash!). Worth more than 3 out of 10, but not that much more. Nice back garden, though.

14 Mar 2011 09:50

The Prince of Wales Feathers, Warren Street

Very nice food. Excellent burger. Wasn't too slow. Lots of lagers and ales available. Tribute, Wandle and Doom Bar on draft. Doom Bar was very well kept. Deserves a much higher rating than 5.6/10

1 Mar 2011 11:28

The Diamond, Hurst Green

Harveys and London Pride on draft when I called in last weekend. Well kept beer. Nice, quiet pub

20 Jan 2011 15:52

The Compasses Inn, Gomshall

The Shear Drop was well kept, but it should be for 3.60 a pint.

1 Nov 2010 08:56

The Beehive, Vauxhall

Been frequenting the Beehive for the last couple of weeks. Clean, friendly, plenty of space. And the food is very good value.

21 Apr 2010 16:11

The Puzzle, Westminster

Now called 'The Loose Box', and re-opened as a gastro-pub.

23 Feb 2010 11:31

Looks like it's closing down. They were taking the pictures off the walls on Friday!

23 Feb 2010 11:28

Forge Hammer, Pontypool

Closed. In the process of becoming an Indian retaurant.

23 Feb 2010 11:25

The Marquis of Granby, Westminster

Improving on me. It's just so cheap (for the Pride)

25 Jun 2009 15:59

The Coach and Horses, Barnes

Lovely garden, friendly staff and excellent BBQ. Probably the best pub in Barnes.

30 Jun 2008 10:35

The Only Running Footman, Mayfair

Appalling, (and expensive) beer. Awful service. Undercooked (but still expensive) food. A khazi.

21 Dec 2007 10:33

The Cricketers Arms, Tangley

Absolutely fantastic country pub. Great beer, great food, nice people.

6 Jun 2007 16:02
