Mabel's Tavern, Euston

The beer is well kept in this place, and the staff very friendly. Loos are clean. The food, however, is really dreadful. Go for a beer, don't go to eat!

The Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak

This is a pub for people who like pubs. The beer is well kept and the choice changes frequently. The food is decent, value for money pub grub and I could hardly move after my cheese and pickle roll, it was so generously filled. Dogs are welcome, and a bowl of clean water is readily available from the staff who are fun and chatty when it's quiet, efficient and fast when it's busy. Some lovely old bloke plays the piano in there occasionally and it was in danger of developing into a knees-up the last time I was in. Try the Rapture red ale if it's on. Delicious!

The Worlds End, Finsbury Park

This pub has definitely improved a great deal. The bar staff are friendly and informative, the real ale is well kept. The food is good value for money. The entertainment is decent. The only thing that continues to let this pub down is the toilets. More attention needed.

The Bree Louise, Euston

One of the best pubs in London, no doubt. The beer is the priority and is constantly changing, always a new treat in store. The staff could not be any more helpful or friendly than they already are. They're also informative about the beer and always willing to let you have a taster. On busy evenings, they'll even do table service (or path service if you're stood outside!). Don't forget to bring your Camra card and you'll get a discount at the bar. They also serve a great pie, and you can bring your dog in the pub. Simply wonderful.

The Spice of Life, Cambridge Circus

For central Soho, I think this is a great pub. The Guinness is ok, which is more than I would say for any other pub in that area other than the Toucan. The bar staff seem to know what they're doing and are friendly, which is another rarity in that part of town. The food is decent, although slightly pricey I feel. It doesn't take long to get served, even on a busy friday evening. They have McMullens real ale on tap, no tvs dominating the decor, music at background level, clean toilets. Winner.
