Charles Holden, Colliers Wood

Nice building, except for the very dirty toilets. However, the beer is excessively overpriced for a very mediocre pint - I tried three different beers including the Holden, each was a bad as the other and all wsere well over £4 a pint. As for the bar staff...I've never seen a more disinterested bunch than those who were on duty last Saturday night.
I'm told the pub is popular for it's garden and outside area...it certainly doesn't deserve to be popular for it's beer or its service.

The Prince William Henry, Southwark

Seriously overpriced even by Young's standards and the Ordinary was just that.

The Alexandra, Wimbledon

An awful experience. Youngs Special from pipes that apparently hadn't been cleaned for six months cost 3.25 a pint; Guinness, chilled beyond redemption, cost 3.80 a pint and both served by a miserable barman who clearly was more interested in talking to his local mates that dealing with passing trade. Went next door but one to the Hand and Racket for an excellent pint of H&H at 2.70 and decent Guinness, not frozen, at 3.20. They really need to get their act together, get some decent staff in and stop charging rip off prices.

The Coach and Horses, Carshalton

Went in for the first time last Xmas when the then landlord came out of the pub and invited a Mummers side in - got a wonderful reception from all the locals. Went back recently to see if we could do it by arrangement this year; the new landlord was just as as wecoming. The beer was fine and "The (Insert Name Here) Mummers" will be doing their Xmas Mumming play here at 14.45 (ish) on Saturday 27 December.
