The Surprise, Croydon

I went into this pub last night for the Sunday night Karaoke, I had a brilliant night and the Guinness was lovely , great staff (Thanks Sue the landlady)
It was a little outta the way forom where I live , the toilets are a little too small (No urinals , just one pot)

Other than that , I can highly reccomend this luverly little watering hole........

The Horse and Groom, Belgravia

I went in here last night to watch the footie , tis a great little battle cruiser, the staff are very friendly and the landlord is a credit to his profession. while its true to say that it's a small pub , it MORE than makes up for it in its great service and quality ales. It's located in a little hideaway of a mews but well worth locating.
The only downside ??? , the toilets are tiny and a little pongy , but hey , its not as if your gonna spend all night in there is it ????

Anyway , you really should check out this nice little pub !!!!! , The Irish embassy always drink in here, so what does THAT tell you !!!!

The Rising Sun, Beckenham

I sometimes frequent this pub when I'm not at the Pawleyne arms (across the road). I have never had a problem with it , good ales , very good food

Its the pub of choice when my wife wants a drink and a meal, i would recc this pub for the exact same. I have never been here late at night when I hear all the "lunatics" come out.

The Pawleyne Arms, Penge

I have just moved into the area from another part of Beckenham and now use this pub as a regular haunt ....why ???

ok , it might look a bit dinghy from the outside , but when I walk into it sometimes the Fire is lit and I get the warmest of welcomes from Landlady all the way down to the customers.

The Guinness is FIRST class and one sup and its gone quality. , The toilets could do with a bit of a facelift , no food , just bar snacks , good pool table and always a race or a match on the TV.
give it a go and you will be pleasantly surprised........

The Bag O' Nails, Victoria

I went in here the day of the floods (Which closed Victoria Station) , I had passed it by loads of times from the 52 bus and now it was a great chance to enter this boozer and sample its wares !!!!

It was packed because of the Palace garden party and Victoria Train station being closed , but I found a spot at the bar and got served very quick , Great ales and I stayed for three of four beers

I have been in here a few times since and had NO problems in getting served
The Toilets ARE a bit whiffey and need to be looked at , but a much nicer pub than the "Duke of (Selling slops to the public) York"

Templar Hotel, Leeds

I was in this nice little pub on Wed 13th May ( with 3 of my brothers and their mates)
It was just across the road from the travelodge where we were staying , I found this a very nice little pub , good crowd , nice range of cheap beers , they even let us bring some Pizza into the pub for soakage as it was a long day on the beer

I would reccomend this friendly pub to any visitors .......

The Jolly Woodman, Beckenham

I live about a mile away from this lovely little boozer , but its well worth the travel , people here are very very friendly and welcomed me with open arms the very first night that I found this little piece of heaven

The ales were plentifull and always pumped with a smile.....
The toilet is a wlk away across the courtyard but is much cleaner than the Oakhill next door , its rustic but its still worth a visit to the jolly
I always try to make a trip to this pub whenever i can.....

Keep up the good work jolly

The Bricklayers Arms, Beckenham

I went in here last Thursday night (before I went over to the Odean picture house)
The owners were NOT there thank god , because I couldnt stand to see them drinking their profits away and abusing their staff. (I have seen them do this on a previous visit)

I just had a quiet beer and was served by a very nice and quiet blonde barmaid
This would be a lovely little boozer if the owners stayed away from it and let their staff run it...........

The Oakhill Tavern, Beckenham

I went into this pub on Saturday night (9th May)
I was very impressed with the setup of the bar. , There was a DJ playing GREAT tunes that night , bar service was very good , didnt try the food although the menu looked very promising.......
ok , thats the pro's
The cons ??? , The Toilet was STINKING , and not just from a punter that had left something behind them , I mean it stank of piss the WHOLE night
Please Oakhill , get you act together and do something about your grotty toilets

The Duke of York, Victoria

I went in here last night (waiting for the train from Victoria)
I ordered pint of speckled hen in front of the pumps , took it to a spot that was free at the SIDE of the pumps and witnessed every beer drinkers nightmare .....
Selling SLOPS to the public , I ordered an IPA , didnt get the slops , but witnessed at first hand the glasses of slops filling up and being served to the unlucky punters

PLEASE be AWARE of this pub.........go to the side and order your ales and BEWARE of half filled glasses behind beer pumps !!!!!
