great pub this had many a great night here, currently being done up with new stage for the bands. Get ya self down there on a band night real good night.
Good friendly boozer with good selction of drinks and good to start at if ya goin koko later on!

If you are going for a drink round glouceser road well worth a visit, good traditional boozer that has a great atmosphere, compared to other pubs in the area stands haed and shoulders above them!!

has improved greatly down here! I only live round the corner and I have now made this my local, good music in here on the weekend, think the locals are still getting used to the new music policy, as me and the missus were having a good old dance in here only to look behind us and find the whole pub just standing there staring blankly at the band.
Still good boozer now well worth a visit when music is on!

I would agree with other comments, one of those pubs that are full of yuppies talking about the latest ferrari they have bought or the latest house they have bought.
Not my cup of tea at all, and if its not yours get yerself down the stanhope arms round the corner proper down to earth pub, if full of tourists sometimes!

I have since been back to this pub it has improved slightly. However still bad!! long wait for a drink!! food bit better> Staff still Rude!

This pub is great not full of chavs like the rest of them plays a different genre of music each night, even has a movie night on Mondays. Great atmosphere on a night out. In my opinion the best bar in Croydon by a country mile!!

Went here for the first time on the bank holiday, outside it looks like a great place but the food is bad.
The beer isn't too bad and it has a good beer garden, overall though very dissapointed as my frineds had been sayin how good it was!!

A good pub to go to to start of a night lots of down to earth characters frequent this place but is good the beer is a lot better in there now than when it opened.
Had food in there the other day and it was good also on a weekend the place is full of good lookin women which also a bonus when you are havin a beer for the weekend!!!

You would think lookin at this pub from outside that it is a friendly country boozer with friendly staff and great food, How wrong you can be!!
The staff when I was there were rude and ignorant, I had dinner there and ordered the beef and ale pie expecting to be loaded full of meat, it was more like a pastry pie with one bit of meat on discovering this I asked if it would be possible to have some Gravy a reasonable request you might think? I was told that they only make Gravy at the weekends so no!!! I questioned this only to be told that it is pub policy to only make gravy at the weekend. This pub could be great if they got rid of all their staff a better chef and basically started again!!

The Purley Arms, South Croydon
Was in here yesterday have started drinking here more often due to a friend of mine starting to drink here. I live in purley and if it is a choice between the pubs there or the purley arms I would choose the purley arms every time.
Roasts on a Sunday, has a dart board, good banter when the football is on was in yesterday for Chelsea v Man u great banter and then also the ryder cup just chating to the locals was a pleasure.
This pub is great, a proper pub in an area where the proper pubs are dropping like flys!
