The Fat Cat, Norwich

For beer choice this pub cannot be beaten, 31 or draught & gravity as well as a great number of ciders (I'm not a cider drinker myself but good on them for taking it so seriously) likewise the quality which I've never found to be less than excellent. It can be hard to get a seat unless you turn up really early but no real ale or cider lover can afford to miss this gem of a pub

The Artillery Arms, Ramsgate

If there was an award for friendliest pub in the UK this would be a serious contender, every time I've been in there I've found the atmosphere welcoming & the excellent jukebox is another bonus!!
Love the way the beers are listed as 'super, smashing, great ales' & 'the other stuff' showing the guv'nor has got his priorities right!
The bar staff are always lovely, kudos to Jackie & Wendy & the beer is always top class, the Dark Star Revelation on Saturday January 4th was especially excellent.
Add to this the lovely stained glass windows & you have one of the bestpubs in the UK, absolutely love it!!

The Maltings, York

Visited this pub one Wednesday evening. Lots of office types visiting for a swift one after work which made for a very civilised but lively atmosphere. The beer was in excellent condition & the staff gave me a top up without me having to ask-always a sign of good bar staff in my book!!
This is an excellent pub that is well worth visiting

The Grape and Grain, Crystal Palace

The Grape And Grain is now under new management but, to all intents & purposes, nothing much has changed. The new fellow (whose name I've forgotten, sorry) was a friend of the previous co-owner Rick, thus he knows his beer & is sensible enough not to change a winning boozer. The atmosphere in the summer is little short of superb & this continues to be a must visit pub

The Cambridge, Norwood

The Cambridge closed down about a year or more ago. For ale drinkers it's no great loss, especially with The Grape & grain & The Westow House both opposite so if you find yourself in Westow Hill or any adjacent roads they are well worth your time

The Ship, Croydon

The ale range in this pub is under-rated, it's not the most extensive (usually 3 beers) & it doesn't change very often if at all but what they serve is always in good condition. Yes, it is more of a rockers/metalheads bar, especially on saturday evenings & it attracts an alternative crowd on these nights. If you're not into rock/metal there are other pubs you will enjoy more nearby

The Green Dragon, Croydon

One of the best pubs in Croydon without a doubt. The pub selects an eclectic & often alternative clinentelle & the atmosphere is never anything less than lively but friendly. The staff are very clued up on ale & there is always an exciting & ever-changing choice of beers, usualy on tap but some on gravity, too. If you get the chance to visit this pub take it

Half and Half, Croydon

A Very nice bar, decent selection of ales & very reasonable price-wise, too, especially if you go early to mid-week
