The Plough and Harrow, Eynsford

Debatable (as others have pointed out) as to whether this should be listed on BITE, as its more of a restaurant with a bar at the rear than a pub. Visited last Friday lunchtime - as i approached the bar there were at least 2 irate groups waiting to complain to the stressed staff about excessive delays waiting for their food. Although the beer was pretty good (had one of the draught ciders) - it was totally understaffed and many unhappy punters. Shame though - great location

Widmore, Bickley

Went passed the Widmore yesterday and its closed down. All boarded up and surrounded by fencing

Chequers, Bromley Common

Had my wedding reception here last month (June) and we were more than happy with the service we received. The rear of the pub has a separate area which the bar staff cordoned off for our guests and everything went superbly well on the day. the couple running the pub and staff could not have been more helpful and everything we asked for was done without problem. Recommended!

The Mug House, London Bridge

I will say this - you are always guaranteed a seat as the Mudlark across the road seems to take most of the trade. Standard Davy's type fayre, but welcoming cool temperature when its a hot sunny day. Otherwise, pretty unremarkable but worth a visit if you want a quiet chat

The Oakhill Tavern, Beckenham

Mid week visit last week and found the place not too bad at all. Good beer and service but didnt get a chance to sample the food - the pizzas are supposed to be excellent by all accounts. Thinking of trying the roasts and records and will let you know!

The Mudlark, London Bridge

Slightly different experience from previous posts - found the bar staff ok and a decent range of beers on draft. Suprisingly, not as expensive as quite a few pubs local to this one and quite packed (although it was a Friday evening after work). The gents did have a foul smell though..

The Bunch of Grapes, London Bridge

Recently spent the evening here for a friends leaving do and its an ok sort of pub. Staff were reasonably friendly and i would go back if thats any sort of recommendation. My only criticism is the lack of space in the main bar - large pillars taking up a lot of space made worse by some huge tables which restrict the standing room somewhat. Looked like they had a decent sized area outside at the back for smokers though..

Nine Fine Irishmen, Las Vegas

Visited this place a couple of times last week. Done out in dark wood over two floors in a "traditional" Irish pub theme. You wont be too disappointed with this place - good range of beers and bar food. They also have an Irish band playing most nights from 9, be advised to get there early as it gets very busy - a tip is to go upstairs where there is another good sized bar.

The Old Doctor Butler's Head, Moorgate

Well worth the effort to locate this pub as its tucked down an alleyway. Traditional Sheps fare and the staff are usually good. Does get heaving at lunchtime (especially outside and the front of the pub), but usually there's room to be had toward the back. Recommended

The Crown and Anchor, Bromley

Very enjoyable visit with several of my pals last weekend. very clean and well kept - great bar staff (thanks Janet!). Good range of beers - one of the better watering holes around Bromley. Recommended

The Partridge, Bromley

Certainly the place to go if you want to avoid the Chavs and have a reasonably safe pint. Ideal for Saturday afternoon watching Sky Sports whilst your other half is shopping!

The Prince Frederick, Bromley

Recently moved back into the area very close to the Fred after an absence of 20 years or so. The place really hasnt changed - thats not a negative, its a great local's pub with excellent bar staff who make you feel welcome. Nice pub..

The Railway Hotel, Faversham

Used this place for the first time a few weeks ago and spent an enjoyable evening sampling the range of Sheps on offer. Good pub, friendly staff - job done!

The Master Gunner, Moorgate

Know this pub very well, and in answer to the previous posters - the girl in question is the lovely Lucy. In fact the bar staff is the major plus point of this pub who do a great job when it gets invariably busy - especially at lunchtimes and towards the weekend. My only criticism is the food which is mediocre at best and ridiculously overpriced.

The Golden Fleece, Bank

Been using this place off and on for a few years now. In short, this is a decent pub - winning brownie points for the speed of service no matter how busy it gets. They sometimes do live music which is a bit of a rarity in the City (in my experience anyway). Would recommend compared to the competition in the area

The Cask and Glass, Victoria

First visit last Friday (30th Nov) based upon these reviews and wasnt disappointed. Sampled all of the Sheps ales on display (except the Late Red which had run out) and all found to be in good form.
Really enjoyable pub to stand and chat with friends, only to be let down by its limited size which can be a bit of a problem during busy hours. Would definately return
