The Cross Keys, Thame

First visit here, realised what we've been missing. A really nice proper pub. 4 real ales (Vale from up the road, Teignmouth and York breweries) lovely atmosphere (no music, tv, quiz machines etc) and nice ordinary seats/tables with cribbage boards and dominos at many.
Really looking forward to next time, hope the house beer is on then!

The Bree Louise, Euston

As the last review - quit worrying about the interior, this is a cracking pub. 11 beers straight from the barrell including 4 Milds (for May) and only 2.50 per pint with your CAMRA card. Genial Landlord who takes his job of checking all the beers very seriously. Abslolutely marvellous!!

The Cross Keys, Selattyn

Fabulous traditional pub, on CAMRA inventory of interiors worthy of preservation. Excellent Stonehouse beer plus changing guest. Music on Thursday and Friday evenings. Only pity is it's not open Monday or Tuesday, what are the locals playing at!

The Oak Inn, Oswestry

Brilliant. John has carried on where Mike and Chris left off. Sports in all rooms but without obtrusive commentary. Very well kept Stonehouse beers. Top notch!

The Red Lion Hotel, Wendover

The Red Lion is basically a Marstons pub/hotel so if you like Pedigree, Banks's or Cumberland or any of the other Marstons "guest" beers you're ok. I always come here with a group of 10ish so our atmosphere is ok. Rooms are good, can be noisy in the summer and food a bit over described and priced from my experience. Best bet is a couple of pints here (beer is well kept) followed by a curry at the Prince of India.

The Swan Hotel, Thame

Back here now for first time since Oct 08 and they seem to have got the message. 4 different real ales available, 2 from the Vale brewery in Haddenham. Things seem to be returning to "normal" thank goodness, although we noticed a few of the older more comfy sofas have gone! Hopefully back in May for another update.

Central Bar, Cardiff

Fantastic smell of prawn curry on entry! This was beer festival week here so a couple of well kept brews I've not tried before (Hook Norton Jackpot and Lees Hop Buster?). As always, good value and what you expect from a Wetherspoons - very handy for main shopping area.

The City Arms, Cardiff

On match day you can't get near the place, on a Thursday night you wouldn't want to go near the place. Reasonable pint of Brians Bitter, nice bar staff, but dreadful "music" booming through from from some wannabee DJ that ruined the atmosphere. The place was empty so why they think this is a good idea, who knows? Otherwise good traditional boozer - just lose the "music"!

The Rummer Tavern, Cardiff

Pretty much as the last review. Pleasant enough trditional pub, just a shame most of it smelt of the gents. Hancocks HB the only draft available. It was ok but better off at the Goat Major roud the corner where there is amuch better choice of real ale.

The Goat Major, Cardiff

Classic traditional pub, beautiful original(?) tiled floor. Good range of well kept Brains (Bitter, SA, Gold and Dark). Good atmosphere for a good chat. Popped in for one big (13) round on a Thursdy evening (7.30ish). served quickly, well worth a visit if you appreciate tradition and real ale.

The Swan Hotel, Thame

What a tragedy!! I visit Thame about once a month and our 6.30pm meet in the Swan was always the highlight. 8 of us walked in last time to see only GK IPA on and not even a proper pump clip. Turned round and went straight back out. I just hope the new owners take some feedback from locals and those on this website!!
