Outside Inn, Larbert

Nice interior decor and thats the end of the good points. Horrendous, overpriced food and drinks. Pathetic level of service. One visit to this place was certainly more than enough for me.

The Fleet Inn, Twyning

THE WORST PLACE TO STAY, EAT OR DRINK IN BRITAIN.. Arrived on a Sunday evening after driving down from Scotland. Had booked over the phone so we could brak our journey from Scotland to Cornwall. If we had been earlier we would have left immediately to try and fine somewhere else. Filthy bedroom, the dirtiest carpet and shower I have ever seen. Dining areas and bar area complete with cobwebs, sticky bar and even sticky carpets. Sat outside in the riverside beer garden. Brilliant location and the website pics didn't show how shabby the place is. There were a few people, all tourists, dining outside that evening, none inside. Even outside we could here the " so called " chef having tantrums, smashing crockery and thrown pots and pans. We or none of the people dining paid for our food as it was disgusting. Must be hard to burn batter while the fish inside is still half raw. It seemed standard procedure to offer everyone who complained free drinks. We had two bottles of free wine and never ate or paid for any food. That is except breakfast which we abandoned due to being unable to get ionto the main hotel building in the morning. The 3 bedrooms are in a separate converted boathouse which has no access to the locked main building. No loss, they can keep the breakfast we paid for. All in all this has just got to be the worst SH1TH0LE in Britain and I'm not kidding. I warrants being closed down by the Dept of Environmental Health or Trading Standards.
Managed by morons and staffed by could care less staff who were used to being on the receiving end of complaints on a daily basis. I voted a Zero cuase I cant vote any less.
Really annoying was that in the morning we went to Tewkesbury for breakfast and it was full of really nice hotels. The Fleet looks great on the website, but, trust me it really is disgusting.

The Almond Bank, Livingston

Below average Wetherspoons, well below average. Not very clean, poor service from the unpleasant staff. The worst Wetherspoons I've ever been in and I wont be back. Place needs a decent manager who can kick some ass.

The Grenadier Bar, Broxburn

The Crusoe Hotel, Lower Largo

Staff unpleasant if your not a local. Great location is the only good thing about it.

Burntisland Sands Hotel, Burntisland

Nice place for a bar lunch. Decent food and drinks at realistic prices.

The Duddingston Arms, Newton

Great pub with good food, beer and atmosphere. If I lived in Newton I would be there every night. Friendly Management that treat you like a regular even if your only there every couple of months. Only bad point, NO PARKING!, and they cant ever really do anything about that due to it's main road location.

Ye Olde Red Horse, Evesham

Stopped in Evesham looking for B&B to break a journey. We looked at Ye Olde Red Horse but it didn't advertise rooms. A local in the street recommended us to try there. We did and had a fabulous night. Room very small but quainter than quaint but it was en-suite and clean. The pub decor was a bit eccentric and it suited us. Sitting in the bar we could smell our steaks on the charcoal grill. Pub grub like you used to get before all the food snobs took over the planet. All in all a 10/10 experience, friendly staff, decent prices and first class beers. Seemed like it was privately owned and run and thats probably why it was so sucessful. Ample public parking oposite. Would definetly go again and recommend to friends.

The Sloop Inn, St Ives

One of the best pubs I've ever been in. Great atmosphere. Good beer. Fist class location. 10. I need to move to St. Ives ASAP.

Royal Dunkeld Hotel, Dunkeld

Brilliant mix of locals and tourists. Decent food and drinks. The place to go if your ever in Dunkeld.

Atholl Arms Hotel, Dunkeld

Premise and menu looked good. Food was utterly disappointing. Seemed to be owned/managed by someone with no knowledge of the Pub trade. I only voted zero cause the system wont let me vote any lower.

The Old Mill Inn, Pitlochry

Go to a tourist resort and pay tourist prices!!! Thats life. However it's a nice place to sit in the sun and the beer was good. Never tried the food cause I hadn't won the lottery that week!

Mckays Hotel, Pitlochry

Pitlochry is a rather twee place but McKays was a decent bar lunch for only a fraction over the going rate. NO PITLOCHRY RIP OFF PRICES HERE! Staff were friendy and their beer is good.

The Two Bridges, South Queensferry

Manager has a totally insignificant presence. Staffed by snotty teenagers who couldn't give a dam. Over-priced madiocre food and expensive drinks.Badly managed pub that would be a goldmine if it was privately owned. Until it is I certainly wont be back. Score ZERO cause I cant score any less.

The Hawes Inn, South Queensferry

Great location, beautiful characterful pub. Pity the chef is king of the freezer and deep fat fryer. Mediocre food at a mediocre price.

The Ferry Tap, South Queensferry

Fabulous bar food at realistic bar food prices. Much better than some of the pretentious over-priced places on the other side of the street. Great beer and a good atmosphere.

Oblo, Eyemouth

Because Oblo is owned by the same people as have the chip shop next door I decided to order the Haddock & chips. BIG MISTAKE. Sevice was so slow it was a joke. The haddock was tastesless and extremely greasy. Chips tastelsss and I had two pickled onions which they foorgot to ;put on the plate and I had to request again. They were the biggest, toughest pickled onions I've ever seen or tasted. As with the fish and chips I only ate less than half of the portion.
The lager was OK.
