The Feathers Hotel, Ludlow

Having seen all the recent activity on here, it was an ideal opportunity to have a look yesterday whist visiting Ludlow for the Spring Festival. What is most annoying is the pathetic attempts being made recently by some to manipulate the system, especially when it's quite clear that they've never been! Stop being idiots.
Decent enough bar (yer it's a hotel, so what get over it!), the barman was very helpful and attentive - even offered a free taste of the ale so I could make a choice! Also offered an ale bat 3x1/3 pint. Great to see a relaxed atmosphere - no tv or thumping music just a good choice of well kept REAL ALE! The food was excellent - the quality of the meat a real surprise - delicious. Just wish I had eaten less through the day so I could have sampled more on the menu! Well done folks.
Word of advice to some people on here, visit a place before you post a comment, otherwise keep quiet.

The Church Inn, Ludlow

Revisited yesterday whist at the Ludlow Spring Festival. Service was still lacking, but the beer was OK. Better but could try harder.

The Charlton Arms, Ludlow

Pub in a truly stunning location. Situated right on the river, with superb views and within easy walking distance of the town centre, whist visiting the Ludlow Spring Festival yesterday. Good pint of Butty Bach here.

Swan Inn, Birlingham

Nice little pub, with great character. Thatched roof, quaint location. Lovely.

3 beers on offer, plus some great food, especially the fish dishes. Service was excellent, friendly and very helpful.

The Church Inn, Ludlow

God, what a grotty little pub the Church has become.

Tatty, uncouth loud drunken idiots, indifferent service, and very average beer. What a real disappointment.

Very poor. A really sad experience. Go elsewhere.

The Rose and Crown, Ludlow

Very mediocre. Ale was poor, cloudy, with tang.

The Queens, Ludlow

Decent enough pub, if a bit like a restaurant than bar.

Couple of real ales, including Ludlow brewery and Wye Valley. Reasonably good.

Food served daily. Service a little lacking.

The Coach and Horses, Shrewsbury

Nice pub set in quiet street in town centre. Small bar with snug, plus large lounge area for food. Good local beers. Decent food served. Nice atmosphere.

The Prince of Wales, Shrewsbury

Basic town boozer, but not very inviting. Decent ales from variety of breweries some local. Food very basic and not going to win any awards. Service was indifferent.
