The Farmers Arms, Holmfirth

A great local boozer. Definitely worth a visit if you are going past. Not the most exciting selection of real ales, but all very well kept and seemed to be going down well with the locals. I've heard good things about the food too, although I've not tried it myself.

The Parish, Huddersfield

Definitely not an ale drinkers pub, I'd go as far to say that I never get a beer in here and tend to go for spirits instead, but if you're into the alternative music scene, a great place. Scooped some impressive gigs recently.

Sportsman, Huddersfield

Great selection of real ale and they are just starting to brew some of their own, which I haven't had the chance to try yet. Friendly staff. Beer well kept and the building has some great period features.

The Beehive, Brixton

Popped in for a drink one evening about a month ago. Usually with Wetherspoons pubs you know what to expect, but not this one. The place smelled terrible, like mothballs. The one beer I had was pretty grim, I can't remember what it was but I don't think I was too adventurous. I won't be back.

The Grove Inn, Huddersfield

This has to be one of the best pubs I have ever been in. The beer is well kept, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the place is clean and tidy. Some of the art work isn't quite to my taste, but I can hardly hold that against it!

Regular rotation on the many pumps they have (I think there are maybe 15 or so). There's nearly always something on that I haven't tried before. Excellent.
