Papa J's, Luton

This place is closed and reopened in Wellington Street.

The English Rose, Luton

Awful pub full of CAMRA members who think that they own it, they block the way to the bar and must crack their teeth on the overcooled beer which, in my opinion, can hardly be referred to as "cellar conditioned".

The Bedfordshire Yeoman, Luton

Now demolished.

16 Aug 2014 19:28

The Oddfellows Arms, Toddington

I paid my second visit today, the beer was perfect, enough said!

Stoosh Sports Bar, Luton

Another closed pub.

2 Oct 2012 22:56

The Pot and Glass, Eaglescliffe

This pub is in Egglescliffe not Eaglescliffe.
And is a very fine, well run establishment with fine ales.
Enough said.

The Black Horse, Luton

No awards for cleanliness here, recently it has become very dirty, the loos are the smelliest I have come across in years.

A camra poster to hide behind works wonders.

The Bat and Barrel, Luton

A couple of weeks ago the charming Landlord persuaded me to try a pint of his real beer. It was surprisingly good-I may try another some time as it is slightly cheaper than the bottles and not so tooth crackingly cold. After the ongoing redecoration it is much nicer, pity about him.

The Freeholders, High Town

Another closed pub.

26 Oct 2007 20:31

The Windsor Castle, Luton

Now closed.

26 Oct 2007 20:29

Red Red Red, Luton

Closed now.

The Jolly Topers, Luton

After a change of management this pub is dying on it's feet.

16 Jul 2007 21:46

The Farley Arms, Luton

Re-opened after rebuild.

The Bat and Barrel, Luton

I'm sorry to say that I agree with the last comments. After a recent visit the beer was un-drinkable, I got nothing but abuse from the boss who refused to even smell it or change it. I thnk it is now a pub best avoided.

The Conway Arms, Luton

CLOSED

25 Feb 2007 22:17

The Thomas Sheraton, Stockton On Tees

The shortage of staff seems to be Wetherspoons policy, it is the same in all their pubs.

25 Feb 2007 22:06

The Sun Inn, Stockton On Tees

I revisited this pub last week, it seems to be going off the rails, the landlord passes through ocasionally but lives elswhere. The staff are ok but the beer is not on form and is served too cold.

25 Feb 2007 22:03

Buck Wilds, Luton

Seems to be closed at present.

12 Mar 2006 15:14

The Black Horse, Luton

Excellent small pub, five real ales all in very good condition, the young, keen, landlord is putting a lot of effort into this pub and is winning more and customers. Prompt courteous service, beer tasters if asked for. Perfect!

23 Oct 2005 15:29

The Two Brewers, Luton

Its closed, HOORAY.

19 Oct 2005 12:48

The Bridge Tavern, Luton

Still standing but closed for years now.

19 Oct 2005 12:42

Tap and Spile, Scarborough

Another great ale pub worth visiting, gets very crowded at weekends

8 Jul 2005 21:37

Indigo Alley, Scarborough

Smashing pub, good ales, silly name. Well worth a visit.

8 Jul 2005 21:34

The Elsinore, Whitby

One of the best pubs in Whitby and one of the few to sell Camerons Strongarm ale, always superb. This pub is worth the walk up the hill from the staith.

8 Jul 2005 21:31

The George and Dragon, Yarm

Iv'e used this pub for over forty years, it's been knocked about a bit over time, better as a two roomer.
The ale is still well kept and the food is very good, if limited, very pleasant service. I have yet to sample weekend evenings or sunny day's.
One of the two best pubs in the area.

31 Mar 2005 13:11

The Bricklayers Arms, Luton

Definitely one of the best pubs in the world. The beer is always good and varied, if, sometimes a bit cold.
It can be very Luton F C at times but that is to be expected.

22 Mar 2005 22:07

Castle Tavern, Luton

A decent pub, I paid my first visit today, the Broadside was very good, it still has some Irish trappings so there is room for improvement.

15 Mar 2005 22:41

The Sun Inn, Stockton On Tees

On my bi-annual visits to Stockton the Sun is often by first port of call. The beer has been a bit dodgy since Terry retired but is now in good safe hands, it is superb again, the prices are not bad but seem to be creeping up again.

15 Mar 2005 22:21

The Blind Beggar, Whitechapel

One of the best pubs in the area, friendly, beer good, food fine.
If you visit on a Sunday you may find yourslf peeling prawns for the pub cat

12 Mar 2005 20:05

The Two Brewers, Luton

It has never been one of my favourate pubs, being very cliquey. It is easy for CAMRA to wobble too and is suitably rewarded. The beers can be good and interesting.
Avoid quiz nights unless you are prepared to sit silently .
The fans are all covered with cardboard and, at times it can be used to smoke kippers especially if the wind is in the wrong direction and the fire is smoking.

9 Mar 2005 13:03

The Conway Arms, Luton

This is now an ex pub, converted into a restaurant.

9 Mar 2005 12:39

The Bat and Barrel, Luton

One of the best real ale pubs in the area, a bit to far to walk for the old crappers of CAMRA. Advertised by Chris as the worst pub in the world, these nice words should get under his skin.
