The Cock and Rabbit, Great Missenden

I hadnt been to the cock and rabbit for about 10 years prior to having lunch today. I can now remember why. The beer is OK, I had a pint of IPA and there were a few choices. The food however, was awful and overpriced. The staff were very cold and the place was as silent and empty as a tomb (1pm on a saturday and empty so something must be wrong) I heard one couple ask if the owner knew of any walks in the area and he just replied curtly, "No". The lady then said to her husband "so that would be a No then!"

The inside reminded me of a working mens club with a centimetre of brown looking residue on everything, My wife and I got a bit fed up of shoeing away fruit flies from the food also.

In short, It could be a gold mine in this location, but it needs 50k spent on a refurb and a serious attitude adjustment. Never again in current status.

The Rising Sun, Little Hampden

Sadly the owner of this pub is very rude and manages to get my dander up every time i visit this establishment. Typical example of a "mini Hitler" and i'm afraid the offering doesnt justify the prices or the abuse. This pub was a Gem when the former owner "Cass" was running it, but now, frankly i dont need to spend money in an establishment where the owner feels he's doing you a favour.

Stag Inn, Mentmore

Great location, but very quiet, even on a saturday afternoon. My girlfriend and i drove over here with the intention of having lunch today but after being charged 10.70 for a pint of strongbow and a large glass of sauvignon blanc, I got so wound up that we went straight home for a bbq ! the place feels a bit 70's and every time i've been here its like a ghost ship, so few patrons that you find yourself whispering in case the staff hear your conversation.
