The Sip Club, Stretford

Living room with a licence is its tag line. Continual change of local real ales in cosy, friendly environment. Been once, you'll go again.

The Robin Hood, Stretford

Nicely refurbished with separated Dining/Family (function) room. Pool & darts area. 3 cask ales currently Black Sheep Bitter, Dizzy Blonde and Bombadier

The Forum, Sheffield

Food: Classic burger v.g. other dishes well received. Beer: Cask was okay. Heineken overpriced. Bottle pinot region £15. Nice outside area-but you can't eat there, not sure why. Also doorman had some issue about wearing hats inside-but this seemed to only apply the one white guy he pulled up

The Frog and Parrot, Sheffield

Generally well priced for a pub in the area. Good selection of cask beer well kept. On the negative slightly short measures and premium pricing for halves e.g. pt £3.34 half£3.50.

The Head of Steam, Huddersfield

Image needs updating as there was NO access from the platform. Its been a couple of years since my last visit and it seems that have the 'pub' is now a 'cafe'. There was the pleasant plus of a jazzz band playing in the smaller 'pub' bar. Consesus was that the beer while drinkable wasn't great I had Tring Snowfake 4.2% and scored it 6

The Vulcan, Huddersfield

last pub on our festive #beertrip to Huddersfield, while not to all of our groups taste; I enjoyed it. A locals pub, and on our visit a mans pub. Nice selection of beers, 2 from M'cr & 1 Thwaites. We managed play pool before the pub filled to bursting at just after 5pm (Sun). Long thin pub meant a squeeze to the WC.

The Parish, Huddersfield

This definitely a music fans pub, large open plan bar area; and gig area at the rear of the property. 4 cask ales on offer one being the ever reliable Tim Taylors Landlord which, it has to be said while drinkable wasn't the TTL we know and love. Bonus points for Bar Football table.

Commercial Inn, Huddersfield

pub#4 on our festive #beertrip. large Sam Smiths pub located in the shopping area. Hobsons choice of Old Brewery bitter - but its a great beer and at £1.93 whats not to like. Pub is an traditional pub, well kept, and without and frivolities

The Rat and Ratchet, Huddersfield

this was pub#3 on our annual festive trip from Manchester. It is large pub with a good mix of seating areas, and open plan standing room. A large selection of beers ranging through the spectrum from Pale Ale, red bitters, dark winter beers etc. My selection was Fullers Jack frost 4.5%.
Suprise bonus pinball machine - heaven!

The Grove Inn, Huddersfield

This was pub#2 on our #beertrip from Manchester. The pub is smaller inside that appears from the frontage, but is a nice basic and freindly pub. The range od cask ales is extensive BUT regretably was dominated by Pale Ale, and IPA's. The were no 'sensible' strength dark beers i.e. you were straight onto 5.0+% stouts.
From the light selection I had Buxton Moor Top - very good.
Note for future visitors there is currently a massive building site opposite, which may make locating this gem difficult to first time visitors.

The Station Inn, Whitby

Cracking town centre pub, near the waterfront. Music on at the weekends. 4 cask ales, Whitby Whaler from a local micro brewery, Tim Taylor Golden Ale were ny choices for the evening. Once you're settled you won't want to leave. I'll say it again crackin' pub

The Resolution Hotel, Whitby

Stayed here, but commenting as a pub/bar. Regular music events seem popular with locals and visitors (we didn't attend any). Called in for a pint on the way back. Main bar 2 handpumps - only 1 operational Wychwood Hobgoblin - drinkable but nowt special

The Granby, Whitby

Don't be put off by the worn exterior. Called in on Friday afternoon, and sat in the 'downstairs' room (to the left) 4 cask ales Camerons Strongarm, Marstons Pedegree, Jennings Lakeland Bitter, Jenning Snecklifter. JLB was acceptable, but needed a top up. Visited again Sat night and went 'upstairs' uncomfortably warm. Had Pedegree - poor pint this time

The Little Angel, Whitby

visited this pub twice while in whitby. room at front with bar & darts, big room at back with sports TV to left. Friday night rugby on, so packed out; saturday lunch called in to watch football, quite busy again. 4 cask ales Tetleys Bitter, York (Double) Chocolate, Camerons Strong Arm (I think) and Black & White (something to do with Newcastle Supporters). Tetley Bitter @ £2.70 . Not everyones taste for a pub

The Bay Hotel, Whitby

just visited on a beautiful september afternoon. small bar so service a bit slow. 4 cask beers Wainright, Theakston Lightfoot, Theakston BB, forget the other. The BB was excellent, but had to ask for a top up. Great out on the balcony.
The outside looks better than the picture currently on here.
Beer 10/10 Food 10/10 Location 10/10 slowish service let it down a tad
