We went yesterday for lunch and it was a shambles. We had booked a table for 5, but it took the staff 15 mins to find us 5 chairs. It was 2pm, but the pub had run out of Naked Ladies ale, rioja, fish and chips and all desserts excluding vanilla ice cream. It took 50 mins for the food to arrive and whilst it had been nicely cooked, some of it was lukewarm.

The Slug and Lettuce, Richmond
OK, so it's a rowdy chain pub, but the bar staff are very quick to serve and the cocktails are good value. This and the White Cross are the best on this stretch of riverfront

Nice pub, great food, great location - what more can ask for?

Nice place. For real ale fans, it's a great place to go. They've just had a refurb and lost some of the character though - it now looks a bit standard gastropub.

Not a bad place to be, but has the slowest bar service in Richmond. If you're drinking outside, it's best to buy from the Slug instead

The kind of place that's fun if you're really drunk, but you have to be very very drunk to enjoy it

The Pitcher and Piano, Richmond
The location is great, the place is ok (bit crowded and could do with a spruce-up), but the bouncers are the most obnoxious I've ever seen. It's the kind of place that's quite happy to sell it's customers 3 pints at 10:55, but then won't give them time to finish them without being harrassed.

The refurb is a great improvement, but the drinkers are still quite chavvy and so it's just not a nice place to go.

The drinks are average, but the curry is amazing. The Thalis especially are fantastic. Great curries for under 6 aren't something that you find in many pubs in Kensington!

The Theodore Bullfrog, Charing Cross
This is admittedly a pretty average pub, hoeever it's the only place where you'll get a seat for an after-work drink near charing cross

The Crown and Sceptre, Kensington
Nice pub, but quite an odd food menu - do mention when you order if you don't your burger served on a bagel!

It's nice for lunch although a bit pricey, but in the evenings it's just another one of those "disco without anyone dancing" pubs where you can't talk to the person next to you without constantly shouting "whaaaaat?"

Newly refurbished and re-opened, this place is unrecognisable! It's now a great little bar, with cool decor, table service, nice food and DJ. Go early if you want a table. Such an improvement! This place is now a credible alternative to the North Star. My bloke said the ale quality was a bit dodge though.

This is the best Friday/Saturday night pub in Ealing - great range of beers, nice crowd, DJ playing cool tunes - and there comes the downside in that it's always packed. Ealing could do with a few more pubs like this. It's always worth looking for a table and if you can't find one, try what was the Bell (just be the Hogshead) just up the road. I've only been once and can't remember what it's called now, but it;s lovely, with nice food, table service, outdoor covered seating, great decor and DJ.

This is an old man's pub, but in a nice way. I wouldn't come here to party, but it's a great place for a quiet pint, with outdoor seating for any (let's hope) sunny days

The last time I went here (friend's leaving do, not my choice), all the girls were going to the pub next door to use the toilets, as the ones here were too minging. Nuff said

The Duke of York, Hanwell
This pub is heading downhill again. Piles of fag buts on the pavement outside because the pub doesn't provude a bin, peeling bright green and yellow paintwork and blokes standing outside who stare as you walk past. I used to go in here, now even though it's my nearest, I avoid it and head straight for The Viaduct or The Fox.
