The Old Market Tavern, Altrincham
Always a good number of real ales in good condition and for sensible money. Facers DHB a big favourite of mine. Free bands on Saturday and Sunday and a mature trouble free environment. Best pub in Alty by a mile.

Hugely improved with decent cask John Smiths and a few guests - beer was tip top.

Best Western The Bell, Driffield
Went in on 28 December at 10pm and was the only person there. Says it all really.

The Moss Trooper, Timperley
Our New Year's Day afternoon visit was marred by the rudest most unpleasant barmaid I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. Having spent a not inconsiderable sum there over the years I was shocked by how rude she was. Staff like her bring the Lees brand into disrepute. I will not spend my hard earned in there ever again.
On a more objective note the Lees here is usually passable but you'd be better off in the Brook in Brooklands if Lees is your thing, or head to the Quarry Bank if you want a better Timperley experience.
