Given it's location this could be a great pub but it's not. Very bland with no proper beer.

It is was it is. Very typical food pub chain. Pleasant enough but unremarkable.

Curious building with very high ceilings. Limited choice of beers but Master Brew was passable. Friendly staff, live music and nicely busy.

Traditional back street local. Clean and well kept and the Harvey's was spot on.

Pleasant and interesting old pub with two very seperate bars. One very quiet and one lively. Friendly staff and friendly punters. Limited choice for real ale but what was there was good. Will return.

Lovely traditional pub with pleasant staff and excellent Goachers Fine Light. Live music nights and comedy nights. Great. Will return soon hopefully for the comedy.

The Rifle Volunteers, Maidstone
No distractions here. Just civilised conversation and an opportunity to savour what must be some of the finest beer in Kent. Three Goacher's beers that are all exceptionally good and served in perfect condition at a remarkably reasonable price. (Curiously there is a lager available. Why would you?)

An excellent well kept pub with friendly staff and generally good humoured clientele. The smoking area is unusually comfortable and popular with smokers and non smokers alike. The garden is great for kids offering pet rabbits and free(yes free!) air hockey and table football.

Very clean, very friendly and Shepherd Neame'Porters' at its' finest.
Lovely little boozer, one of the best in town.

Ye Olde Thirsty Pig, Maidstone
Hard to resist trying this one out of curiosity.
Fascinating building both inside and out with an unexpectedly friendly atmosphere and a very impressive range of bottled beers.

This has got to be one of the best pubs in Maidstone. Despite its location on a busy main through route this is how a pub should be. Congenial atmosphere complete with real fire, friendly staff who know their stuff and a perfect pint of Harveys. Very hard to leave.

The Hare and Hounds, Maidstone
Under new management. New landlady knowledgeable and passionate about real ale.
Decent selection. The Tribute was absolutely perfect and reasonably priced. Long may it continue. Despite its track record in the past this place is worth a try if you appreciate decent beer.
