Thomas Lloyd, Warwick

My experience differs from some of those below. Yes, many of the ales had coming soon on them but there was still a good choice. The food was cheap and the décor good with a good atmosphere. The service was decent too

The Wild Boar, Warwick

Good visit, friendly and informed barman as we chatted about differing hops. Had the pacific ale and it was in good form.

The Duke of Wellington, Bourton on the Water

Well, it was open at 3pm unlike the pub down the road. The selection was decent to be fair, had a few tasters and decided on the Wells IPA. Our table stayed uncleared, don't know if the staff knew that the coffee cups and trays were ours, we just pushed them to the end of the long tabale. Not a bad place during our vist.

The Mousetrap Inn, Bourton on the Water

Well I can't review. They closed at 3pm as I tried to escape the tourists a little off the beaten track.

The Green Man, Harborne

Now a Freehouse so worth a try. Staff are pretty friendly as well.

The Prince of Wales, Moseley

Plenty of ales here in a busy and very traditional pub ozzing with character. The outside bit is a little rusty maybe it's meant to be.

The Hare and Hounds, Manchester

If you want real ale don't come here. Asked the middled aged barmaid if they did real ales, she replied "Real what?" I asked if they did bitter she said "Yea there" pointing a solitary pump with Holt bitter on it. I then asked for a taste tester which she begrudgingly gave me in a rude manner. I said "i'll have a pint of Holts then" to which she shoved the dregs of the taste tester into a pint glass and pored me a pint. Great customer service or what?

Shame really because it was a nice traditional boozer to relax in after the Test Match.

The Plough, Harborne

Bouncers wouldn't let us in on Saturday saying they were closed, it was 10.30! Get the impression this place thinks its better than it is.

The Skinners Arms, Kings Cross

Enjoyed my visit here before I got the train. Seemed busy and had a traditional feel, the barstaff seem on the ball. Green King so, had a couple of Abbots which were well kept. Toilets are clean, no complaints.

The Sun, Richmond

Good pub, Traditional feel. Shame it cost 8.30 for a pint of London Pride and a pint of Carling in plastic containers after the rugby, bit steep.

13 Feb 2011 13:53

Orange Tree, Richmond

Good pub before the rugby, had sky sports on aswell. Had to drink my pint out of a plastic container which give the time is understandable but, couldn't rate my pint because of it. Good feel to the place.

The Richmond Arms, Richmond

Walked in here after the Rugby to get away from the plastic cup serving pubs. Not great range but I did drink my pint in a glass. Quickly realised it was a gay friendly pub thus, the lack of ales. Nice enough place though

The Three Fishes, Shrewsbury

Good pub, spent a few hours in here mainly because Meals started at 6 but, got to use some excuse. Enjyed the Doombar.

The Salamander, Bath

A Gem of a pub. Bath Ales is the bizzo

22 Nov 2010 19:10

The Raven, Bath

Good Pub feels like your in a proper boozer with a good mix of people. Recommend the Stark Raven. Good staff.

The Coopers Arms, Woodgate Valley

This is now a members club not a pub any more.

28 Sep 2010 22:10

The Old Crown Inn, Halesowen

That is the wrong picture for this pub

The New Inn, Gloucester

Its an old pub that really does need work on it. The range of Ales are pretty good and the prices but it seemed a bit run down. Also, when I walked in it smelt like stale farts.

If someone got hold of this pub and cleaned it up a little it would be a treasure.

Shropshire Arms, Chester

Nice place, good selection of Beers, was in there today it was quiet inside due to everyone being outside the pub drinking in the sun. Barmaid was lovely, very helpful.

The Patrick Kavanagh, Moseley

Was here for the England v Ukraine match. Plenty of places to view the game and a varying age of people inside. It seemed pretty friendley and the bar staff were good. After the match finished two blokes sat down and started playing on an accordian and a flute, never seen this happen before but, it was a bit of fun.

Goose At The Fighting Cocks, Moseley

Old style pub with plenty of character, the interior is very traditional. There is no way you can describe the type of people who drink here it very much a mix. Drinks a bit pricey but there is a variety, it wasn't my round anyway lol.

The Dark Horse, Moseley

Laid back place a little epensive but good food. The Gourmet burgers look meaty and the chips are like those from a chippy.

The Briar Rose, Birmingham

A decent enough place, good prices and the food and staff were ok. Can get busy dinner time.

27 Mar 2009 18:10

The Oak Tree, Rednal

Great value meals i.e two for one. It can be busy at peak times which is understandable but, you get your meals in good time. Its a shame it goes quiet about 9ish as you like to relax in a good atmosphere and the drink is pretty expensive. However, its such a nice place and the staff are very helpful so i'll give it an 8/10.

The Royal Oak, Halesowen

Its an ok pub, no real trouble but it lacks any sort of charm.

17 Mar 2009 14:55

The Gun Barrels, Selly Oak

A good pub if your a student but, if your not and your older than 25 its not the sort of place you want to be in for too long. The lager in there only has taste if you stick Ketchup in it.

17 Mar 2009 14:52

The Vine, Harborne

Never more than 20 people in here and 10 of them hang around the two pool tables.

16 Mar 2009 17:55

The New Inn, Harborne

A old Victorian back pub, no thrills which is a good thing, nice little snug and if your a local its a good pub to be close to.

16 Mar 2009 17:47

Duke Of Wellington, Belgravia

I liked this Pub, its a nice backstreet boozer, pretty friendly, good pint of Spitfire and the Football was on the TV without dominating the place.

14 Mar 2009 16:57

The Thomas Cubitt, Belgravia

Not really a Pub I would say a Bar instead. Good food and nice surrounds.

The Bale of Hay, Bartley Green

Does not look inviting at all, I heard it was a good pub......in the 70s!

The White Horse, Harborne

best pub in Harborne, no doubts crowded for sports but good atmos

9 Mar 2009 20:23

The Cobham Arms, Halesowen

I used to really like the Cobham, nice regulars, no convo killing music and a nice relaxed atmosphere. I dont use it that often now since they refurbed it a few years ago because its really light in the Lounge and you need sun glasses to acclimitize. Still a good pub tho.

9 Mar 2009 16:28

The Black Horse, Illey

Good pub, nice selection of Beers. I go there now and again on Thursdays for the Quiz which is great fun and the locals are friendly enough.
