The Rusty Axe Inn, Martock

Reopened with new landlord. Just as bad as before. No real ale on offer. Given bottled beer at £3.20 per bottle. Food very average. Landlord spends more time in front of the bar and leaves the running to untrained immigrants. Not recommended.

The Old Manse Hotel, Bourton-on-the-Water

Uninterested staff, dirty tables, dreadful Abbott, average food for an Old English Inn. The bar was filled with Japanese tourists when I visited today. The way they were treated by the staff must have put them off ever going into another English pub. Typical tourist pub with unmotivated young staff.

The Crown Inn, Bridport

Rough pub, expensive and poorly kept beer (3.50 for Palmers Gold), did not fancy eating, I will not be revisiting.

The Cerdic, Chard

Have visited a number of times in the past few years for lunch and found it to be an above average Wetherspoons. The only problem to report is that quite often there is only one person serving whilst the others deliver food, clear tables or have a chat. I cannot comment on what it is like in the evening but I hope they have more staff serving behind the bar.
The Abbott is always good but taken off during the beer festivals because it is too popular and no one will try the guest ales. Other Wetherspoons do not push the guest ales (some of which are undrinkable......chocolate beer????) like this hence I do not use it during festivals.

Lantokay, Street

I have used this pub regularly in the past, probably 3 or 4 times a year but it has been getting worse and worse. Went in on a Saturday afternoon. Only two beers available from the 10 pumps all displaying ales. The wrong food was delivered to our table and then had to wait quite a while for the correct one to arrive. All of the staff accept one bright young lady (probably wont last) were zombies. This is now one of the the worst Wetherspoons in the area along with the one in Weston Super Mare. Definitely not recommended.

The Volunteer Inn, Lyme Regis

Visited yesterday, good beer, good food and a very friendly barmaid. Lots of people looked in the window but went away because it looks a bit dowdy. Its a shame because its well worth a visit if you dont like "plastic" pubs.

Royal Oak, Overstratton

Good pub serving excellent food. Large car park and garden. Always two real ales to choose from. Watch out or you will miss the entrance to the car park as you drive through the village. Interesting olde world interior. Worth finding, just off the A303.

Smugglers Inn, Osmington Mills

Lovely setting, good beer, average food, very helpful staff. Gets very packed in the holiday season. Best pub car park in Dorset, views accros the bay to Portland, don`t forget your binoculars as we did.

The Two Brewers, Street

Good ales, good food, good landlord, unflustered friendly staff and no musak. What more do you want from a pub. New covered smoking area at the rear. Highly recommended.

The Brewers Arms, South Petherton

Great pub, new outside covered smoking area, always good real ales and good food. Beer festivals are brilliant. Typical village pub with excellent landlord.
