The Cross Keys, Handsworth

Up for let. Could make a great pub reading previous reviews.

13 Sep 2017 19:00

Old Crown Inn, Handsworth

You get a really friendly welcome when you visit here plus they do good rooms that are clean and tidy. They do 4 locally sourced real ales and home cooked food. Worth a visit if staying in Sheffield.

13 Sep 2017 18:59

The Lemon Arms, Mylor Bridge

Bit of a locals local but the beer was on top form.

10 Sep 2017 20:41

The Pandora Inn, Restronguet

Ok well arriving at this pub and it''s great views. We thought we would get a spot of lunch as a lot of people rave about it, well it''s good but I wouldn''t say amazing. There seemed to be a lot of 20 somethings working behind the bar and loads of laughter in the kitchen and they didn''t seem thst interested in the job just the wage at the end of the week. An older person in charge or a leader might give this pub some direction. The beer was above average. Overall this could be an amazing pub but it''s lacking.

10 Sep 2017 20:40

The Railway Inn, Manchester

New owners apparently staying as a pub. To the owners of the witchwood in Ashton under Lyne.

18 Aug 2017 11:18

The Feathers, Ashton under Lyne

Closed and up for sale

18 Aug 2017 11:17

The Golden Fleece, Hereford

Just recently been taken over by a new landlord and landlady. They seemed very friendly and the punters were too if a little different. Some people might feel a bit intimidated but try engaging in conversation and they are a friendly lot.

25 Jul 2017 17:22

Moss Tavern, Manchester

Waiting for planning permission to knock it down and build flats.

20 Jun 2017 13:23

The Lazy Toad, Droylsden

After a 3 month closure for a refit this place has reopened for the better. The toilets are actually clean!! And they now have an outside bar which will be holding a mini beer festival in the future. There are now 5 cask beers along with the old regular lagers. There are T.v's galore which is ok when the football or cricket is on but not of you want a quiet pint. I'd revisit this place again if and when they hold a beer festival.

20 Jun 2017 13:21

Royal Oak, Droylsden

Being converted into flats.

20 Jun 2017 13:17

Bay Horse, Clayton Bridge

Being converted into a house.

20 Jun 2017 13:15

Victoria Inn, Clayton

Only opens when Man City play and it's for members only.

20 Jun 2017 13:12

Crook Inn, Tweedsmuir

Is this historic pub opened? I believe it was bought by the community in 2015.

9 May 2017 16:46

The Railway Inn, Manchester

Been sold unsure if it will stay as a pub.

8 May 2017 11:40

The White Hart, Machen

Has this place closed?

1 May 2017 12:00

Sir Titus Salt, Bradford

Has this place reopened yet? Stonegate have been purchasing a few old wetherspoons is this one of them?

21 Mar 2017 13:29

Klondyke Club, Levenshulme

Has a beer festival on twice a year.

27 Feb 2017 07:56

Fred's Ale House, Levenshulme

6 handpull beers and a real cider, reasonably priced and a good selection mostly from local breweries. There's a nice outside bit to sit in at the front and back. Well worth a visit if in the area, don't bother with the Buttery which is called the post office deli on here.

27 Feb 2017 07:55

The Post Office Deli, Levenshulme

This place is now called The Buttery and with it come a price tag of 4 pound a pint for a beer at 4.1 percentage. No disrespect to the people of Levenshulme but it isn't Didsbury,Chorlton or Manchester's Northern quarter. This place seems to be catering for hip families who can bring their offspring and can discuss world affairs over a mocha, latte and a piece of carrot cake. If you want a decent beer with variety go to Freds ale house.

27 Feb 2017 07:52

The Trawl Boat Inn, Lytham St Annes

Hmmm like an old folks home with sane people who have issues with everything from wrong beer mats to wrong fish snd chips

12 Feb 2017 21:45

The Taps, Lytham St Annes

It may be greene king owned but the they have a great selection of guest beers and a great clientele who know their beer. Food is really good and is possibly the best in the area. Si get yourself here folks it's great.

12 Feb 2017 21:38

The Salisbury, Manchester

Due to be demolished don't know when but it's something to do with extending Oxford Road train station. Such a shame, why can't they do what they did for shambles raise it and move it,we are losing too many impressive buildings to grey miserable characterless contraptions.

21 Nov 2016 14:27

The Beaumont Arms, Bolton

I feel this needs updating. Well surly staff who don't have a clue about the cask marque app with average beer. On an estate and really not worth the drive to find it.

30 Oct 2016 13:07

The Malt Shovels, Cheadle

Been demolished.

26 Oct 2016 15:30

Farmers Arms, Cheadle Heath

Now a greene king establisment. Only two cask beers on with one being greene king bitter, food didn't look great just your basic microwaved shite.

26 Oct 2016 11:35

The Romiley Arms, Romiley

It's like a creche/playground. Crap choice of beer and and staff who are really not bothered. Cannot understand why it's cask marque.

25 Oct 2016 11:55

The Spread Eagle Hotel, Romiley

Good pub, good food and a regular of will Mellor, yes I didn't know who he was either.

25 Oct 2016 11:53

Duke of York, Romiley

Great looking pub but not very friendly staff. More interested in sorting some problem out in the pub. 4 ales but mostly from national breweries. No food being served as there was no chef,no wonder it was empty.

25 Oct 2016 11:51

Platform 1, Romiley

Just what belle Vue said. And can really recommend the food.

25 Oct 2016 11:48

Bank of England, Ancoats

Seems the police are interested in digging up this pub http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/gangster-jimmy-the-weed-donnelly-12033201

18 Oct 2016 14:33

Salopian Bar, Shrewsbury

Although this is a great pub the locals seem to not give an inch of space to pass them. Plenty of seats available but they choose to sit in a pathway near the bar that blocks your route to the toilet. Also try getting past them in the pub itself, oh and yes an excuse me was said.

3 Oct 2016 18:01

The Old Post Office, Shrewsbury

Beer range isn't that great but the food was pretty good, home cooked chips and no microwaved food. It's a surprise to see it empty considering some of the other pubs which serve bland food.

3 Oct 2016 17:56

The Hole In The Wall, Shrewsbury

Never tried the food but to be honest it looked a little bit better than spoons. On the beer front it was not that impressive with the best coming from purity brewery. Ok if your a cask marque scanner don't ask the blonde behind the bar where the certificate is, as you will get into a complex conversation that basically ends up with you being passed over to the nice gentleman with a brain who actually realises what the certificate is. Note to pub please train your staff on the things you advertise in the pub.

3 Oct 2016 15:39

Wigan Central, Wigan

I don't know if the second arch was open when you went blue scrumpy but it's certainly made a difference with getting served at the bar. Love this place it really is a great venue and Wigan overall is becoming a must see for real ale fans in Greater Manchester.

27 Sep 2016 16:44

Droylsden Sports and Social Club, Droylsden

Closed, apparently the manager was drinking the profits away.

25 Sep 2016 08:35

Tafarn Glanaber, Porthmadog

On arrival to this place it looks a bit tired and a bit tired inside, with both cask pump clips turned around. A pub that caters for families and food, massive portions especially the fish and chips which is certainly not for the faint hearted.

15 Sep 2016 10:11

The Y Llong (The Ship), Porthmadog

Food is good but the choice of real ale is quite poor. Jennings was the choice of the day so I'm guessing the pub is tied to the brewery.

13 Sep 2016 17:18

Tafarn Pencei Cafe Bar, Porthmadog

A really busy and friendly local, serves a cracking pint of Bass on cask.

13 Sep 2016 17:14

The Australia, Porthmadog

Seriously what's going on this pub should be rated a lot higher than it has been given, a cracking pub serving excellent food. The beer selection comes from the four microbreweries who own it but my favourite was from purple moose which is based in Porthmadog. A must visit despite some poor reviews of the past.

13 Sep 2016 16:58

Stamford Arms, Stalybridge

A Thwaites pub on the border of Stalybridge and Mossley. Couldn't say which train station is closer but I will let the locals tell you. Anyhow the beer was good and the regulars were friendly, such a shame it doesn't serve food but it is cask marque certified.

8 Sep 2016 18:45

The Stamford Arms, Mossley

A Thwaites pub on the border of Stalybridge and Mossley. Couldn't say which train station is closer but I will let the locals tell you. Anyhow the beer was good and the regulars were friendly, such a shame it doesn't serve food but it is cask marque certified.

7 Sep 2016 17:50

The Church Inn, Uppermill

Now that was a hell of a post from 2013. Anyway I'd tend to agree with some of the Ale reviews apart from the mild which was absolutely excellent. In regards to the food you get plenty so make sure you have a good walk planned afterwards to walk it off.

7 Sep 2016 17:46

The Manchester, Beswick

Closed boarded up. Was a bit crap anyway.

30 Aug 2016 23:55

The Feathers, Ashton under Lyne

Owned by the same owners as the witchwood, nice pub but no real ale.

13 Aug 2016 15:34

Brownton's Bottle Shop, Ashton under Lyne

Now selling it's first real ale by ticketybrew from Stalybridge, only 2.50 a pint.

13 Aug 2016 15:33

Star Inn, Ashton under Lyne

Apparently run by some dodgy characters, cap beer and no real ale.

13 Aug 2016 15:32

The Witchwood, Ashton Under Lyne

This was a great place but since the new owners have taken over the real ale selection has become extremely safe, this according to one employee is because they are tied, but the place is owned by private individuals so that's bollocks. Rose The girl behind the bar with the tattoos can be rude and unfriendly it's better when the guys are on.

13 Aug 2016 15:30

The Black Lion Hotel, Salford

This pub is now part of the Pieminster brand so I was expecting a lot more last Friday when all four cask pump badges were turned around. On enquiring why they were the excuse was they had only just been tapped. With a beer festival at the left bank and not a million miles away I feel there was no thought put into this, and they missed out on the real ale brigade. Come on guys up your game!

1 Aug 2016 12:18

Turks Head, Sowerby Bridge

Looked like it was having a refit on passing the other day.

24 Jul 2016 14:42

Moorings, Sowerby Bridge

Expected a lot from this place but it was rather disappointing. The views to the canal are great but the beer selection was poor and only had 2 ales on,Both being of average taste. It says we do only home cooked food,so why was nobody eating at the busiest period of the day?

24 Jul 2016 14:41

The Kinmel Arms Hotel, St George

Really good pub and worth a visit, great selection of beer great location a must if in the area or if you are doing g the www.busroute76.com ale festival

12 Jul 2016 14:23

Three Pigeons Inn, Graigfechan

A pub that's on the bus route 76 real ale trail that has accommodation and camping to the rear. Good range of ales and ciders and friendly knowledgeable staff. Bit of a distance from anywhere else but worth doing this www.busroute76.com

12 Jul 2016 14:20

The Myddelton Grill on the Square, Ruthin

More of a food place than a pub as the name suggests. Real ale on offer from mold brewery. Nice beer garden with great views of the hillside.

12 Jul 2016 14:16

The Castle Hotel, Ruthin

A wetherspoons hotel pub, service isn't that efficient and staff can be a bit surly, not a bad range of ales with two being from the local area. The staff in the hotel are far nicer and will go out of their way for you.

12 Jul 2016 14:13

Sinclairs Oyster Bar, Manchester

Mr Humphrey Smith you have truly ruined this pub, plastic glasses, pints with heads that you could stick a flake in,all keg beers on offer and staff with massive chips on their shoulders. This place caters now for tourists and football fans and is definitely not the place it once was.

21 Jun 2016 09:42

The Mitre Hotel, Manchester

Never really bother with this place when I'm in Manchester but because it's become cask marque I thought I'd scan it to my collection. On entering it's quite a nice clean place with 2 hand pumps in action one from Tim Taylor and the other black sheep. The girl behind the bar didn't have a clue what cask marque was even when I showed her a picture of the certificate. To make matters worse she served our ale in a CARLING glass. Beer was average.

21 Jun 2016 09:35

The Three Tuns, Filey

From the outside it doesn't look inviting and once inside you feel the same. It's very tired and attracts a lot of o.a.ps and smells like a home for them. Beer on offer was from Skipton brewery golden pippin and black sheep gold. Average at best.

19 Jun 2016 18:39

Bonhommes Bar, Filey

Claims to be the best pub in Filey and says it has up to 5 real ales on, on this occasion there was 3 . Something from Rudgates, one called back of the net and another I can't remember. Opted for back of the net which was pleasant enough but nothing to write home about. The place does home cooked food but it doesn't inspire you to eat there as the place looks a bit dirty.

19 Jun 2016 18:36

The Station Hotel, Filey

A locals local pub with 4 ales in offer tetleys gold and the ordinary bitter, camerons strongarm and black sheep bitter. Opted for the tetleys gold which was good but wanted to try something more local to the area.

19 Jun 2016 18:30

The Star Inn, Filey

Decent pub, nice clean and some decent regulars. 4 ales on offer from mostly national breweries. A good decent menu with a separate restaurant at the rear. Worth a visit if your in the area.

19 Jun 2016 18:25

The Fleece Inn, Mossley

This pub has now vastly improved with a great selection of ales which are far superior to any near Mossley train station. It's a good walk up the hill but easily worth it. Landlord is passionate about new beers and is only too willing to listen to recommendations. The low rating doesn't give this place justice.

13 Jun 2016 20:31

Ladysmith, Ashton Under Lyne

A cask marque pub now selling 2 real ales with one from timothy Taylor and the other badged up as ladysmith ale after the pub. Reasonably priced at £2.25. Although the regulars all seem to be drinking John smith's at 2 pound a pint. Worth a visit if passing.

10 Jun 2016 12:21

The Crown, Chorley

Another decent pub with a good range of local beers on offer. Locals were friendly and seemed to know there stuff about beers.

9 Jun 2016 11:07

Shepherds Hall Ale House, Chorley

Decent enough micro pub with mostly local breweries on offer, opens at 2 a good addition to the beer scene around Chorley, possibly my second favourite place after the malt and hops.

9 Jun 2016 11:05

Sir Henry Tate, Chorley

Not the worse wetherspoons I've been to but seems to have its fair share of local deadbeats and work shys. Beer on offer was from Dunscar bridge and was quite decent. A modern building with two floors and a lift.

9 Jun 2016 11:02

The Malt 'n' Hops, Chorley

Looks bigger inside than from the outside with a great range of local and national beers on offer. Friendly landlord who knows his beers. Easily the best pub in Chorley.

9 Jun 2016 10:59

Lord Caradoc, Port Talbot

An extremely busy wetherspoons in a town full of crap pubs. It's probably the best place to go for a real ale and different beers.

3 Jun 2016 19:36

The Swash Buckle Tavern, Cleethorpes

As you walk towards the pub you are greeted by an old back yard of some kind. But if you go in the side door to the right there's a bar that's shaped like an old boat which looks quite unique. On offer they had directors and some other national berr which was a tad warm, so I'm guessing lager is the order of the day in this boozer. There's a pool table which seemed to be busier than the bar and that's about it. Maybe a quick one if your desperate.

3 Jun 2016 05:07

The Fiddler, Cleethorpes

Can be very busy on football or weekend nights. Not much in the way of real ale only your national ones.

3 Jun 2016 04:56

The Fiddler, Cleethorpes

Can be very busy on football or weekend nights. Not much in the way of real ale only your national ones.

3 Jun 2016 04:56

Ice Barque, Grimsby

A very soulless wetherspoons and a poor range of ales.

1 Jun 2016 18:19

The Corporation Arms, Grimsby

A camra heritage pub which is fantastic inside but spoilt by the lack of real ale and general dossers in there.

1 Jun 2016 18:16

The Railway, Stockport

Oh and I had no problems with the landlord or landlady both were very friendly.

31 May 2016 14:47

The Railway, Stockport

A pub that's a good distance from the town but worth the trip,if I was doing a session around Stockport I'd make this my first port of call then onto the ardent arms. The beers from this pub seem to mostly be from pennine with a few other local ones thrown in. The bottle selection is very good with Belgium beers being most prominent. Well worth the walk.

31 May 2016 14:46

The Arden Arms, Stockport

Fantastic food and good range of robinson beers. A hidden gem in this great town of Stockport with all its great pubs.

31 May 2016 14:23

Beer Shack, Burnley

Great selection of bottle beers and real ales on offer at this place, I can imagine it gets very busy at night. Well worth a visit.

24 May 2016 10:18

The Bridge Bier Huis, Burnley

This is a fantastic pub and easily the best in Burnley, beer and cider are great and the homemade food is extremely well priced and tasty. Can get very busy when Burnley play.

24 May 2016 10:15

The Butchers Arms, Hepworth

Now stating it has French cuisine and a Thai banquet menu. Seems very quiet and maybe the menu isn't working and it should stick with a rustic English one. Anyway on the real ale front there was 4 beers with Barnsley bitter being the one of choice and very tasty.

19 May 2016 17:19

The Nottingham Hotel, Cleethorpes

Possibly my favourite pub in Cleethorpes with a good knowledgeable landlord and staff. It's just a shame it's owned by punch as then the landlord would be able to get beers from further afield.

19 May 2016 15:43

Willy's Pub and Brewery, Cleethorpes

On arrival the place was covered in scaffolding so didn't look inviting but once inside it's really nice. Only two real ales on offer with one being willys bitter which was a good session beer. Tried the home cooked food which was reasonable.

19 May 2016 15:39

The Smugglers Inn, Cleethorpes

Doesn't look that appealing from the outside but inside it's quite nice. A good place to go to chat to the real locals.

19 May 2016 15:37

Signal Box Inn, Cleethorpes

Fantastic quirky place only problem it serves the beer in plastic glasses.

19 May 2016 15:35

The Coliseum Picture Theatre, Cleethorpes

Nice looking wetherspoons inside but the clientele are your work shys and dossers who let their kids run all over the place.

19 May 2016 15:15

The Fisherman's Arms, Cleethorpes

Now called Dexters alehouse and serving more real ales at a higher price. Looks like the rough and ready locals have disappeared to be replaced by sophisticated types. Food looked ok.

19 May 2016 15:13

Fairfield Arms, Audenshaw

Absolutely 10 times better than when I last visited. The beer selection is great now and the craft beers are gorgeous. This place is now worth a visit once again.

6 May 2016 15:38

The Station Inn, Whitby

This is a good pub but to be top in the Bite rated pubs is giving it far too much credit, in my opinion there a far better pubs across Britain and if I'm totally honest this pub might not even be the number one in Whitby which I'd give to the little angel.

3 May 2016 15:25

The Moses Gate Hotel, Farnworth

Great place for bands such a shame it's up for sale. Please buy it someone with enthusiasm and a love of good music.

3 May 2016 15:20

The Moon and Spoon, Slough

The fool is back can't wait for his next review and looking forward to what table he sat at.

30 Apr 2016 08:47

The Big Angel, Whitby

A souless wetherspoons that looks more like a posh fish and chip restaurant. Beer is good tho.

20 Apr 2016 20:06

The Plough, Whitby

Sadly this place is not serving cask anymore and has turned into a keg only place. With the cask gone so have the regulars possibly to the new wetherspoons. Seems Mr Smith is taking the wrong path once again.

20 Apr 2016 20:00

The Elsinore, Whitby

Bit strange in my opinion this place and an odd landlord. The beer selection is very safe with Camerons being the main choice. People seem absorbed by the fruit machine as if talking is not allowed. Anyone not for me.

20 Apr 2016 19:57

The Little Angel, Whitby

One of the better pubs in Whitby with a good range of real ales and locals who are friendly. Bit of a rockers theme going on but don't let that put you off as there's a quiet room at the front. Well worth a visit.

20 Apr 2016 19:54

The Buck, Whitby

A place that's doesn't actually know if it's a pub or a bar. Only got two real ales on and both are from Timothy taylor which was on the turn to be honest. The way the place looks I'd go down the bar route and put some craft beers on to entice the youngster because it looked extremely quiet on the two days we visited.

20 Apr 2016 19:51

The Old Original, Scouthead

This pub if you can call it that is now called The Three Crowns. On entering you are greeted by an older chap who presumes you are eating, you are then sat in an area facing the bar and a young lady takes your order. A few minutes 'after you are guided to your seat. Well for me this place couldn't be my local as it doesn't have that feel of a pub more a restaurant, by the way we was going to try the good which was good but not mind blowing. The real ale on offer was from greenfield brewery which was on form.

31 Mar 2016 13:03

The Surtees Arms, Ferryhill

A brewery pub (yard of ale brewery) in the middle of no where but a very good pub with a good range of there own beer and from further a field. Beer festival on at Easter so might be worth searching out if your in the area.

28 Feb 2016 13:12

The Cotton Tree, Droylsden

Going to be an Indian restaurant no alcohol served.

6 Feb 2016 09:29

The Bakers Vaults, Stockport

Concur with the previous poster, I went in a couple of Saturdays ago and had a similar issue. It really is a shame tho because this is a really good pub with decent beer.

5 Feb 2016 13:20

Millgate, Failsworth

One of the most boring and soulless lees pubs I've been to,food isn't great and beer was above average.

26 Jan 2016 16:03

Cotton Tree Inn, Failsworth

Locals local selling 2 cask ales. Quite friendly staff and punters.

26 Jan 2016 16:00

The Dog and Partridge, Woodhouses

Such a shame this pub is catering and welcoming chavs and general dossers. The food is very average and they have got rid of the bowling green at the back and replaced it with tables so the chav kids can scream and annoy other customers.

26 Jan 2016 13:59

Woodhouse Gardens, Failsworth

This pub is quite a nice area and is quite nice on the inside and outside. We ordered the guest lees beer which was off,the girl asked what was wrong with it so she got told it tasted sour and smelt like vinegar. Unsure what to do we said can you swap it which she did, but on leaving the bar she asked one of the regulars to taste the off beer. A loud urgh told her we was telling the truth! Note for barmaid don't question just replace plus turn the pump clip around so no other person has to suffer the same fate. Anyway the food is good but on the pricey side for what you get.

26 Jan 2016 13:56

Angel, Ashton under Lyne

Another grim place that has a mish mash of different chairs and tables. I think you know it's bad when they serve cans of beer from the fridge. Opposite the timezone so don't waste your time heading to that part of Ashton.

24 Jan 2016 17:31

Time Zone, Ashton under Lyne

Absolutely without a shadow of a doubt the worst pub in Ashton under Lyne. Smells of urine as you enter, beer quality is poor and the locals are strange. AVOID!

24 Jan 2016 17:28

Top End Bar, Ashton under Lyne

Run by an Indian bloke and his son and daughter. Cheap beer but no real ale. Good pool table and big screen for sky sports other than that not much to inspire.

24 Jan 2016 17:26

Prince Of Wales, Cardiff

Is there any moderators out there? Anybody listening?

20 Jan 2016 15:26

The King and Castle, Windsor

Just keep reporting him. They will have to do something eventually!!!!!!

20 Jan 2016 11:37

The Great Western, Cardiff

On Saturday 23rd January I will go to the great western with a group of ten people. I will get in very early and stay there most of the day. I will purposely sit at table 10 and wait for Paul 36 to come in. I shall then wave at him and say sorry but this table is full you will have to sit upstairs at table 30.

19 Jan 2016 12:40

Greyhound, Maidenhead

This site is really going downhill quickly. Just ban this arsenal/paul 36 and ban his ip address so he can't set up another account.

17 Jan 2016 10:54

Blue Pig (Hungry Horse), Audenshaw

It surprises me that this place has never reopened. There are now 2 new estates being built close by that would serve this community really well. Landlords, brewers and general businessmen by this pub and turn it into a thriving community hub.

27 Aug 2014 08:34

The Waterloo Tavern, Ashton under Lyne

Up for sale and not surprising it has some very tough competition from the dog and partridge up the road.

24 Aug 2014 20:04

The Globe Hotel, Glossop

I'm independent and not a real ale drinker and just do lager/cider so please do not accuse me of having a vendetta. My friends who drink real ale said it was possibly the worst beer they have tasted and forced little old me to try, well to be quite frank I couldde where they were coming from. Was this beer made from all the peelings from the vegetables that you use to make the food? On a brighter note my cider was ok.

23 Aug 2014 20:51

Royal Oak, Droylsden

I have done Bruce, and its a great night out at the royal oak, great bands great staff only problem is choice of beer.

21 Aug 2014 10:46

The Lazy Toad, Droylsden

Finally the self made Mr Droylsden has left this pub for a life in Spain. Thank god. Anyway will anyone buy this pub???? No because the arrogant, obnoxious pratt who has moved to Spain wants £840,000 is he for real????

21 Aug 2014 10:42

The Boundary, Audenshaw

Fantastic pub with home cooked food.

7 Feb 2013 16:51

The Gun Inn, Hollingworth

This pub is not in Hyde as the address says.

3 Feb 2013 16:42

The Oddfellows Arms, Stratford Upon Avon

Well this pub has only been the pub of the day for a few days so its not as bad as the turf tavern. If anyone from beer in the evening is listening can we have an update in the latest pubs please. The latest ones have been on for 4 months at least. This website needs a shake up.

28 Jan 2013 21:02

The Forester's Call, Ashton-under-Lyne

Now giving camra card carrying customers 10p off a pint of real ale.

21 Jan 2013 14:17

The Turf Tavern, Oxford

This has been the random pub of the day now for nearly 2 months. Is this now a pub record?

13 Jan 2013 21:12

Vale Cottage, Gorton

Stockport and south Manchester camras pub of the month. This pub is back where it belongs a real good find for you real ale enthusiasts.

21 Nov 2012 06:51

Barristers, Bolton

Weird Polish barmaid behind the bar don't take her seat at the bar otherwise the bouncers from across the road will sling you out. Strange people attend this place don't go unless you have a giro book or look like a 6 fingered freak.

19 Nov 2012 14:40

Moss Tavern, Manchester

Reopened with the landlord telling us all these big ideas of real ale and food. I'm afraid with enterprise being in charge this pub will struggle.

6 Nov 2012 14:49

Dr Browns, Ashton Under Lyne

Was closed for years but now its finally reopened as a pet shop! Shame really because it was a great building and would of made a better wetherspoons than the one already in Ashton.

30 Oct 2012 11:05

Oliver's Bar, Ashton-Under-Lyne

Another cheap john smiths/fosters pub 1.50 a pint place. Clientel are your regular o.a.ps and general workshys.

21 Oct 2012 18:49

The Sheldon Arms, Ashton under Lyne

A custom built lees pub that serves food. Has 2 real ales on which is kept quite well. Id say a better option would be the quirky pub nearby called the Snipe which has more of a feel of a proper pub. A Travelodge is nearby which is very handy if anyone wants to have a night out in Manchester or Ashton under lyne.

20 Oct 2012 14:35

The Prince Of Orange, Ashton Under Lyne

Robinsons bitter on cask here not as good as the caledonia. They have now decided to dump the karaoke on Sundays and have a band on which were very good. The outside has had a paint job but the inside could do with one.

8 Oct 2012 11:06

The Bowling Green, Ashton-under-Lyne

The only thing that's top about this place is when it closes.

28 Sep 2012 09:39

The Ash Tree, Ashton Under Lyne

Due to a good landlord this place is now in the good beer guide 2013

28 Sep 2012 09:37

Kings Head Hotel, Droylsden

Now in the good beer guide for 2013.

14 Sep 2012 12:10

Strawberry Gardens Inn, Manchester

Now selling Greene king I.p.a at 1.40 come on real ale fans support this.

12 Sep 2012 08:13

Hop Pole Hotel, Ashton Under Lyne

Heard a rumour this pub is opened again. I hope they take on board some of these comments as real ale in Ashton under lyne is very limited. The building itself is fantastic and could become an iconic place given the right landlord.

4 Sep 2012 08:48

Strawberry Gardens Inn, Manchester

Reopened and selling breakfasts early doors.

3 Sep 2012 14:34

The Buxton, Droylsden

Now selling real ale in bottles. Bar had been extended and a new pool table has been put in.

20 Aug 2012 11:40

North Riding Hotel, Scarborough

Been to standing order was an old bank. Quality building and beer. Think I remember one called the flowerpot. Best spoons I've been to is the one in llandudno great building and good beer.

19 Aug 2012 07:25

Buck & Union, Oldham

Sorry using my phone with predictive text so the barman wasn't called Batman although Batman has better taste buds.

2 Aug 2012 21:15

Buck & Union, Oldham

A real dive cheap real ale but not well kept. Took my sour vinegar tasting tetleys back and the Batman passed it to some guy who said it wad ok. When I went back he said another guy said it was ok aswel. So if you Like beer that smells sour like vinegar and tastes Crap this is the place for you. Note to landlord clean your pipes.

2 Aug 2012 21:11

The Station Hotel, Ashton Under Lyne

What a shame about this once great pub. The place smells of dogs the windows look like they have bullet holes in the toilets seem to be the only sanctuary. A bit of love and attention is what's needed plus a good clean up of dog Crap outside so the place can host beer festivals and bbq's once again.

25 Jul 2012 07:55

The Witchwood, Ashton Under Lyne

Over the past few weeks I've been going in the witchwood and have to say the beer has been mostly on form. The problem they seem to have is that they order dark beers for the summer and light ones for the winter. It's just a preference of mine and nothing against anyone who drinks dark beers in summer. Seems to have loads of leaflets about camra and the s.p.b.w which is good.

25 Jul 2012 07:48

Strawberry Gardens Inn, Manchester

The landlord will be putting a different real ale on this Saturday. Spread the word to all your real ale lovers.

21 Jun 2012 10:33

Bush Inn, Manchester

That last comment was pathetic! The place is extremely clean and has a great landlord who has listened to the locals and put 3 real ales on.

20 Jun 2012 14:29

The Forester's Call, Ashton-under-Lyne

Now selling food. Virtues, chillis, pies etc. Always selling a seasonal holts beer.

20 Jun 2012 10:33

The Dog And Pheasant, Waterloo

A bit of a locals local this one with very knowledgeable bar staff. Might be a good place to visit if your a walker with daisy nook country park not far away.

24 May 2012 19:51

The Forester's Call, Ashton-under-Lyne

This place has now got a deal with Joseph holts, its now considering putting another on. A bit out of the town but pj route to the witchwood which makes up for it.

5 May 2012 20:58

The Beehive, Droylsden

Now selling hornbeam,galaxy.

4 May 2012 17:59

Micro Bar, Manchester

A place that's not trying to be a pub or fancy bar just a place to educate the foster and john smiths brigade. If you want a pint whilst the wife is shopping head here my friends.

4 May 2012 17:37

The Guzzling Goose, Ashton Under Lyne

Well its my kind of pub this because of the lovely man city decor ha ha. Only has one real ale on but its ok. It's a shame that its not served in both rooms because people in the bigger room don't know its on. Very good pool table aswel.

22 Apr 2012 12:48

The Beehive, Droylsden

Love the new beer in the bee hive but it should be promoted on the other side of the bar. Outstanding brewery is one of the best in the Manchester area. I also tried the food which was surprisingly cheap given this pub is one of the most expensive in the area. Well done.

20 Apr 2012 11:27

Hare & Hounds, Ramsbottom

Great beer and pub. One complaint Mr landlord stop looking so miserable and sullen it puts people off returning, maybe try engagiyng in conversation with your punters.

31 Mar 2012 19:44

The Three Crowns, Oldham

Expected more from this place seeing as its in the good beer guide. Beer was not bad but the place could do with a clean. Only across the road from the beer fest so hopefully improved by then.

27 Mar 2012 17:39

Buck & Union, Oldham

Sells real ale at a very cheap price but don't ask for a half because they don't serve it so the missus had to deal with a pint. Some odd looking people go in here so don't dress up dress down! mind you of you want to feel better about yourself give it a visit.

27 Mar 2012 17:35

The Engine Rooms, Ashton Under Lyne

Nice refurbished shame about the ales. Not the best choice was hoping for some local brews but got your usual Bombardier beer. Has potential to rival wetherspoons next door.

26 Mar 2012 05:49

The Lazy Toad, Droylsden

It's a cracking night in the lazy toad at weekends. But its dead during the day this in my opinion is due to no real ales and lack of promoting them.

29 Feb 2012 08:19

Fairfield Arms, Audenshaw

What the hell was that last comment about? It sounds like your selling a house! A pub that sells food that is a bit poncy if you ask me and you don't feel comfortable drinking in there. At least they have s couple of real ales on but they are both from hornbeam. More variety on that part.

29 Feb 2012 08:15

The Railway Inn, Manchester

Far too expensive and full of pretencious people. Get a grip of yourselves your not a city centre pub. The grub was good here but sadly I don't think they do it anymore.

29 Feb 2012 08:10

The Ashton Arms, Oldham

An oasis in a desert. Oldham doesn't have too many good pubs but this is possibly the best in the town centre. I'd recommend this pub if your attending the Oldham beer fest on the 27-28th April.

29 Feb 2012 08:06

The Buxton, Droylsden

It's been 2 years since I've stepped into the buxton and it looks a totally different place. Bigger bar nice contemporary wallpaper and a rotating guest beer things are looking up. On the downside its w bit small he needs to buy the estate agent next door and knock through to make it bigger. And another guest beer on please.

23 Feb 2012 20:34

The Pig On The Wall, Droylsden

Not been in for awhile so thought id take a look. Nice building with a car park in front and beer garden to rear. Seems to be a locals pub but quite friendly. Bombardier on cask not bad. Had some lunch which was good value for money.

23 Feb 2012 15:13

The Strawbury Duck, Entwistle

Only went for the real ale and it was on top form. The scenery is first class going up on the train but the train is every hour. The food looked good but did'nt have any. NIce little venue. By the way is it the place where Max and Paddy did a sketch from?
