Market House, Weston Super Mare

Basic good old pub, excellent landlord, friendly staff, good juke box, changed hands not long before Chrismas I was told and according to the friendly regulars the change was for the better!

In a part of the town surrounded by lots of other pubs, this one stands out as the best in it's viscinity, go there, enjoy a pint!

The Regency, Weston Super Mare

Good beer, excellent food, nice atmosphere, friendly locals........my mate was a little put off by one of the bar staff, a greek looking chap that she described as an 'oily t**t' but he didn't bother me and wasn't enough to put her off another visit.
Well worth a look, I will certainly be popping in again next time I'm in or around Weston, especially on a Sunday for one of their excellent roasts.

The Wynford Arms, Reading

Friendly landlord, friendly bar staff, can be a liitle bit dead in the week but very lively at weekends. Yes this is a gay pub but anyone comfortable in their own sexuality will enjoy it.........chelsea greg, mcroyal and Lord Jason, are you all curious but afraid to admit it or just completely ignorant and a waste of oxygen?; the former I would wager....that means the first one lads!

Beer is good, massive selection of spirits and liquers, good pool table, juke box expensive boot a good selection of music.

All in all, not the best gaybar I've been in but certainly not the worst, worth a visit whether your'e gay or straight!

Rose & Crown, Tupsley

Awful.........screaming chavs with screaming brats, my pie and pint was ruined by a) the dirty glass, b) the microwave cooking and c) the two little shits who it seems are allowed to run screaming around the bar whenever they choose and who will then come and stand by your table whilst you are eating staring at you.

Avoid it like the plague!

The Spread Eagle Inn, Hereford

This is THE place in Hereford for good pub grub, food second to none, beer ok, locals pleasant enough.

You wouldn't want to spend the whole night in here but well worth popping in for a couple of pints on your way round the town!

The Cock of Tupsley, Hereford

A food orientated pub, not much atmosphere as its such a big place and can be quite empty during the week, much more welcoming at the weekend but gets so busy you may have a wait if you're eating.

Food excellent, beer kept well, staff pleasant and accommodating.

Nice for a family day out but if your'e a drinker there are better places, this pub does what it says on the tin, not one to avoid but also not one to get over excited about.

Pleasant!

The Barrels, Hereford

One of the best, if not the best boozer in Hereford.

Walked in a stranger walked out a friend and have always recieved a warm welcome.

Beer good, locals smashin', atmosphere top notch, smoking area second to none!

The Black Lion Inn, Hereford

Does Unlucky Kentucky actually know Hereford at all? There certainly ARE a lot of gay folk in and around Hereford!!

This is a nice little pub, the landlords are pleasant but the female bar staff can get a bit sniffy about bad language which spoils the night out experience somewhat as you are always watching your p's and q's as opposed to just enjoying yourself!

It's been a while since I was last in Hereford so I can't really say much more about this place until I have made a more recent visit except to say that it's not as bad as the other comments would have you believe!

The Golden Lion, Worle

The smoking ban has muted this once highly enjoyable pub as there is limited outdoor space.

Use it or lose it as if it does go you WILL regret it, good food, friendly staff, good beer and an excellent range, pop in for one on your way past!

The Pavillion, Weston Super Mare

Non-descript, big hangar of a place, lacking in atmosphere.

Beer ok, food very good, service pleasant.

This pub does it's job as a nice bar for the travelling punter......will go back next time on a weekend just to see if there are regulars and if the atmosphere picks up.

Nice place to sit outside for a quiet pint.

Dragon Inn, Weston Super Mare

In total agreement regarding the shoddy service, decent bar staff always know who is next in line, were it not for the fact that the regulars are either too old or too drunk to square up to one another this random serve who you're nearest to attitude could I imagine cause problems!!!!

The food is mediocre and quite often you are left with the previous occupants dirty pots on the table right up until the moment your own 'meal' is served.

The beer rancid, the lager rancid, the Guinness....didn't dare!

Awful, awful, awful!

The Fighting Cocks, Bagshot

If you like a friendly atmosphere and enjoy having more than just the one then th Cocks is for you.

Not recommended for the feint hearted, if you are offended by dirty jokes, lewd but wickedly observed sarcasm, lads enjoying a game of football or not having an umbrella in your drink then go elsewhere.

I love this place, it's a pubs pub! When you've finished having a couple of quieter ones down the road at the Mariners trot up to the Cocks to finish the night in drunken but thouroughly entertained style!

The Kings Arms (Hungry Horse), Bagshot

OMG.....what a hole, filthy tables, dirty glasses, sticky floor! Pleasant young lady behind the bar trying her best but not even her friendly smile could put the warmth into this place.

As is always the case with these chains it had its 'happy hour' corner full of unwashed pissed old blokes shouting incoherently and waving their tobacco stained fingers in a variety of gestures at anyone they considered to be raising the standards.......don't you just wish they would change their trousers more often, greasy combovers are one thing but urine stains on beige pants......it's not a good look boys!

The younger generation of drinkers in here, who's wardrobes consist of shell suits and leggings and whose main income judging by the plethora of buggies and nappy sacks in the beer garden are their children, are surly and seem to think that if they speak with what they consider to be a 'black' accent then everyone will give them 'RESPEC' are just too ill educated to insult and would be killed as runts if they were any other mammal than homo-sapien!

The food was indescribably bad served with a galvanised bucket of 'condiments' all of which seemed to be either tomato sauce, brown sauce or mayo, the steak was cooked to within an inch of being perfect to make a pair of shoes with even though I asked for medium rare, does the well done arrive at the table on fire I wonder?

Awful place, awful food, horrendous regulars, staff trying their best but as the old adage goes, you can't polish a turd!

As for the beer, not bad at all...if you don't mind a semi-clean glass and if you sit outside at the front it can all seem as if the inside doesn't exist.

All in all, avoid the place, if you can't then hope it's a nice day and sit out the front!

The Three Mariners, Bagshot

One can only presume that the early comments posted were by disgruntled regulars who didn't like the fact that their 'mates' the previous owners had left!

As for carpatcher and aleman who posted more recent negative comments, was there something in your behaviour that caused the staff/landlady to be less than accommodating I wonder?

A beautiful old building, friendly staff.....especially the landlady Linda who has never been anything but pleasant and welcoming toward me....even when I have been very drunk in here (which is on more than one occasion)!

The beer is well kept and the glasses are sparklingly clean, if you want to have a giggle order the Grolsch as it can be a bit liveley and has the staff playing froth juggling!!!

The food is good, the small beer garden is like a tardis, it looks tiny but you would be surprised by how many people can comfortably fit into the space.

Fair enough, the prices are a little high but no more so than a lot of places in the South, and lets face it, you get what you pay for in this life.

All in all a good little pub, my joint favourite place to drink in the town, and, unlike in these atmospheric vacuums they call........chain pubs(vomits) my dog was welcome and catered for as much as I was.

So, to sum up, good pub, pleasant service, good beer, good food and you can take your best mate too!

The Windsor Castle, Weston Super Mare

As a pub that relies heavily on the food side of the business and therefore one that has to attract more than just the locals, this place is sadly lacking in atmosphere and has quite possibly the most inhospitable bar staff I have ever been served by, one can only presume that the three very loud and very drunk young men in the bar when I visited (and I use the term men very loosely!) spend enough money each day to keep the business afloat.

The beer garden is large with plenty of places to sit, it was a rainy day and so everything looked a little drab but you can see that in the sunshine this beer garden and smoking area is the best feature of an otherwise unremarkable boozer.

The dining area is seperated in the main from the bar area and the food is excellent.

Mixed reviews on this one, if you're looking for good food and a nice view at a reasonable price then visit the Windsor, if you want a few beers and to have the craic with the locals, venture further into the town and find somewhere else!

The Red Admiral, Weston Super Mare

Mmmmmmm, beer cloudy and lager flat, perhaps cleaning the lines and keeping the cellar at the right temperature could help!!!!

Nice layout, plenty of tables and chairs for the locals to use as weapons when the somewhat tense atmosphere explodes.

Pool balls stop rolling on the table when an unknown face walks in.

Could have been an off day when I visited but I won't be ging back to find out!

Scallys, Weston Super Mare

Better to have a mouth like a gutter than one full of marbles!!!!! Friendly pub, service could sometimes come with a bit more of a smile but all the staff pleasant and helpful, beer kept well and a fantastic choice on the top shelf, prices average, punters friendly, pool table excellent with a winner stays on policy that really allows you to integrate and get chatting to the locals. Superb live music at the weekends, no trouble......the door staff are never stretched.

Well worth a visit if you're in Weston.

The White Hart, Weston Super Mare

Crackin' little boozer this, very sports orientated......all sports, not just the footy. Friendly atmosphere, good beer, reasonable prices, no trouble......what more can you ask for!
