Well Dougdeep, I will tell you what can be better.... visit the Locks in the depths of a misty Autumn. Misty nights. Tranquility. A handful of customers. A very limited menu but that is for the best as it keeps the food to a high standard. Great beer and a fantastic welcome from the landlord. If you possibly can, you MUST visit this pub!

Newly redecorated pub in a beautiful village that has won "Best Kept Village" several times. I think it has recently changed owners and is clearly on the up. What a cracking pub. Regularly rotating guest beer, - it was Theakston Grouse Beater on the day of our visit. Plenty of parking space, excellent food. Bench-tables at the front of the pub give a lovely view over the village. Very friendly locals and possibly the most helpful staff I have come across in years. Friends were due to meet us there late, but we were getting close to the end of food ordering time. Because there is no mobile signal, the staff offered us use of the land-line to ring their order through. The three staff that served us were clearly all very well trained and very focused on looking after their customers.

Brilliant location. The gravity dispensed beer was excellent although only 2 barrels were available during our visit. This pub is still a work in progress, but don't let this put you off.... Look beyond the fact that the redecoration hasn't got to the walls yet, and just soak up the atmosphere of a real old fashioned pub. We loved it.

Open after a refurb that has refreshed the place without spoiling its character. Fantastic selection of ale and always a really friendly welcome.

The Crown and Mitre, Kings Lynn
What a fantastic find! I admit i was encouraged by the landlord to post my comments here, but that doesn't in anyway affect my opinions. A great location, great beer, friendly service. This pub is a MUST if you are in Kings lynn
