The Swan, Milton Keynes

Stony Stratford is in Buckinghamshire, not Bedfordshire.

The Talbot, Milton Keynes

This pub has gone through a massive refurb and is totally unrecognisable from its former sad self. It's a now a 'Great British Carvery' with an a la carte menu as well as the carvery. My wife had the carvery and was very happy with the quality of the meats and the range and quality of the multiple vegetables. I had welsh rarebit followed by lasagne. Both were excellent. Then with their diamond club for over 50's it's only 6.49 each for 2 courses (Monday to Friday). Can't be bad!

Ship Ashore, Milton Keynes

Service remains slow - they don't seem to have enough staff. The range of ales and lagers is good, but waiting ten minutes to get a pint spoils it. Foos is ok. That's the best you can say about it.

The Swan Inn, Milton Keynes Village

We went again last week: I'd still say it's good, but no longer excellent. The food was good, but you can't say more than that. Service was present and pleasant, but not especially attentive.
The sparkle is missing.

Shoulder of Mutton, Calverton

Calverton - and Milton Keynes are both in Buckinghamshire, so don't get lost getting here!
Nice airy well laid out rural pub. A good range of beers, and fast service for the pleasant food. I wouldn't call it friendly, but it was an ok dinner out.

Ye Three Fyshes, Turvey

The refurb has made the environment much nicer, and best of all the food has remained an excellent stadard! Staff are welcoming and friendly, and the great range of beers, with ever impresive guest beers make a visit well worth while.
OK, so the prices went up a little, but I think it's worth it!

The Swan Inn, Milton Keynes Village

I went here yesterday evening with a friendly but important customer. Friends had been the evening before, and my wife and I are going on Saturday with the same friends.
The food was excellent, the service was excellent. It's all I've ever known here. I was amazed and disappointed to read the bad reviews. It sounds like they hit a bad patch. Thankfully, it all seems to be back to normal again.

Ye Three Fyshes, Turvey

My wife came accross this pub one lunchtime last summer and enjoyed a really lovely meal. Despite seeing the bad reviews on this site I agreed to go back one evening to try it for myself. We've now been back quite a few times and look forward to the next visit inbetween. The bar is nothing special, but the beers and the food in the restaurant part are worth the journey (from Milton Keynes). It retains a lovely rustic charm with simply increbible and perfectly cooked food ... so good we went there twice with friends for a pre-Christmas dinners.
