The Fishermans Retreat, Shuttleworth

This place is set in a fantastic location with stunning views across the valley. Its very much a food-orientated establishment though it does host (very enjoyable) beer festivals. The grub comes in shall we say generous portions and its decent home cooked fayre. The beer is a little pricey though there is a malt whiskey on offer at 3000 a shot (or something like that, cant remember exactly!).Theres also a fishing lodge there too which i think the public can use.Well worth a visit!

Ronnies On The Rock, Bury

U need to carry ID to get in this place - to prove you're young enough.

The Robert Peel, Bury

This is really crap pub.Has the usual sterile wetherspoons feel about it - ie has less atmoshpere than the moon.In addtion it always seems to be filthy - Vile looking carpet and plates, glasses and ashtrays that looked like they'd been there all week. The staff seem disinterestd and surly (being pestered for my glass at 11.05pm just topped it off).Terrible.

O'Neills, Bury

This place is O.k as Irish chain pubs go,it's a decent crowd in there and theres never any trouble (something of a rarity in the centre of Bury),not much more to say about it really just 'average'!

The Brown Cow Inn, Bury

This pub is set in a lovely location in the middle of a country park.Quite family orientated in the daytime (ie loads of kids running about) so i went down after 8pm on my second visit and it was much more relaxed.Limited beer choice and a little pricey but dont let this put you off its still well worth a trip down.
