Market Tavern, Durham

Decent food and decent beer right in the market square.
Regularly rotate their ales.
Can get rather busy around the bar on an evening, but a decent pub nonetheless.

The Hadfield, Sheffield

Lived opposite the pub for 3 years and it was practically my 2nd living room.

The beer isn't great but it's very cheap.

Lots of screens for the football and it gets VERY busy. (sometimes people are actually watching from outside).

Good cheap food, 3 pool tables, lots of pub quizzes and some very attractive barmaids.

Ahhh the memories...

Font, Manchester

Is certainly a bar rather than a pub, but has good range of beer (bottled and on draught), isn't too expensive, has decent music, 2 cocktails and I'm told the food is good too.

Can get very busy though.

The Clock Tower, Didsbury

Only place in Didsbury that isn't that busy on a friday/saturday evening.
That should say it all.

The Cock and Hoop, Nottingham

Cosy non-smoking pub with nice beer and good food.
Been a few times during the day and it was quiet but the staff were very friendly.
I imagine it's busier in the evenings but definately one to drop in for a pint during the day.

The Castle Hotel, Manchester

decent beer
friendly staff
small and dingy but I'd prefer to describe it as "cosy and traditional"
Loved the fact we had to ring the doorbell for them to let us in!

The George, Croydon

It's an average wetherspoons pub. You know exactly what it will be like before you step inside.
Cheap food and drink, a decent range of beer but very busy and smokey.
