The Plough, East Sheen

Had lunch at The Plough the other day and was very impressed - great food and excellent beer (Landlord & Harveys), and very friendly staff.

I'll be going back.

The Royal Oak, Marlow

Went here on a Friday lunchtime. Though extremely busy the service, food and beer (Timothy Taylor Landlord) were all excellent. Will definitely go back!

The Coeur de Lion, Bath

Great little pub, good local beer and friendly service.

The White Hart, Buxted

Rather quiet during a mid-week lunchtime visit but very friendly service and good beer - the Hopping Hare was very drinkable.

The food was good but the menu was extremely limited. The rear conservatory is very pleasant.

The Clubhouse, Twickenham

Oh dear! Totally agree with I_Love_Rugby, Steve Roy has long since gone, wouldn't recommend it.

The Gun Inn, Heathfield

Good to see this pub coming good again after a few years of being well below par. Very friendly staff and really good food on offer. Will certainly be going back!

The Hay Waggon Inn, Hartfield

Excellent! Visited on a Friday lunchtime and found a busy pub serving excellent food and good beer. The pub did get very busy so be warned, well worth the trip though.

The Bricklayers Arms, Putney

Agree with lout_from_the_lane, it's great to see the full Tim Taylor range and Ram Tam was definitely the best.
The pub can be quiet (no bad thing?) but would still highly recommend it, and it's a real change from the other Putney pubs.

Ye Olde Swan Inn, Thames Ditton

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime and really enjoyed. It's in a lovely setting with a good bitter selection (well kept), great food & reasonably priced. Definitely the pick of the pubs in the area.

George Inn, Alfriston

Great pub. Visited on the Saturday evening of the bank holiday and had a great evening. The food is excellent and a decent range of beer too.

I don't know if booking is essential, but it's worth doing if you want to sit in the bar area (as I do) rather than the restaurant.

The Dysart, Petersham

Visited here last Thursday and liked it. A really good bitter (Sharp's) and some excellent live jazz. It was quite loud though.

As everyone else has said, is it a pub or a restaurant? The menu was better than most pubs.
